Professor Franklin’s Experiment

Things hadn’t gone quite to plan…

Professor Franklin had been in a deep state of contemplation going on six hours. He’d been pacing so long that a wear patch had formed under his feet.

His experiment had gone horribly wrong, and he had to tell someone. He knew that it would get out eventually, these things always did. But who to tell first?

Surely the Killinglys were going to want to know what happened to their son. But the truth was, he didn’t entirely know. He could have gone to one of a thousand places when the portal opened.

Finally exhausted, he sat down and waited.

This experiment is done by Grim Flandango. Every day he generates a random word, and I generate a drabble. The word today is PROFESSOR.

Thank you for reading my drabble. I’d love to hear your responses.

You can check out some more of my writing and follow me here. (She, Her) I am a writer, an artist and a freelance editor. I write a little bit of everything, whatever is on my mind at the moment. Get an email when I publish a new story. And you could buy me an iced latte if the mood strikes.
