Mary’s Obsession
She’d been obsessed with Paula ever since high school…
Thank you to Crush Hundo Edition. Today’s word prompt is SIMILITUDE.
Similitude: The quality or state of being similar to something. A comparison between two things. A person or thing resembling someone or something else.
Paula sat with her knees against her chest in the dark, dank cellar room. The only light source was a thin sunbeam that peeked through one of the boarded up windows. The dirt floor offered little warmth during the cold nights.
Mary had been fascinated with Paula since high school. And since then it had just escalated, to the point of obsession. She’d undergone several surgeries, and their physical appearances were almost indistinguishable now.
Paula had lost all hope until one day the door was left open. Overjoyed, she ran home to find Mary in her home, living her life.
