Signs From Below

Aaron heard the calling…

This experiment was originally done by Grim Flandango. Every day he generates a random word, and I generate a drabble. The word today is CHIME.

For as long as he could remember Aaron had heard the chime. It had gotten him out of many precarious situations.

Like the time he stole from the collection plate after church when he was only eight. Then there were the multitude of times he took money from his father’s wallet. And when he started robbing banks, the chime always let him know when the police were about to arrive.

The chime jolted him awake one evening. This time he followed it into a dark alleyway. He waited patiently, but when the chiming stopped, he knew it was too late.

Thank you for reading my drabble. I’d love to hear your responses.
