How to be in the flow with your words

Ways of Increasing Your Productivity

Write conversationally and take frequent breaks while you are in a creative mood. Your thoughts will be able to bubble to the surface where you can capture them and put them on paper. Being sure you are breathing and occasionally taking a few deeper breaths will clear your mind and release your body’s tension. Breathing will allow you to be clearer on what you are writing and refine what you have already written in your earlier writing sessions.

The concepts will go together better when you have a few minutes away from the content and return to your work. Inconsistent things will be easier to identify so they can be changed.

Have you ever had someone in a relationship suddenly begin to act in unusual ways toward you without any explanation? Working backward, you might be able to identify the road signs where the relationship went on the detour. Write that information down and allow yourself to see if you might be able to use parts or all of the events in a story you are writing. It will enhance the characters. Remember to change the names of the participants in your story who are replaying the real-life event.

In this method, you gather information from those around you like a reporter might for a news story. This is a change of pace for most people who want to write because often I hear them say they feel they must come up with the whole story on their own.

This will cause significant writer’s block if you continue to do it all by yourself. Think outside of that “I have to do it myself box,” and you might be amazed that you can add to your characters, and they will be more real for your reader. You can use parts of the stories you gather or all of them or combine them to create what you are trying to communicate to your reader.

As you gather the thoughts you have about your topic and clarify them in your content, you will begin to feel that what you have written is flowing. Any break in the flow will then be easy to identify so you can correct it and continue to complete the article, story, or book.

Identify the feeling of being in the flow with your words, so the feeling will help you check how you are progressing. Productivity will increase, and you will have satisfaction, which makes writing more fun.

The joy of developing as a writer and seeing your written work in print is a special feeling. Suppose you can support and encourage yourself while you are increasing your productivity. In that case, you will experience fulfillment in wanting to continue to share your thoughts in writing.

Save editing your work until later. For now, continue to write the content that is pertinent to the topic you are covering. If you are having trouble following your words, so will your reader see where you begin to feel bogged down and change the content in that area.

I learned to write from my mother, who was an extraordinary teacher. She made it so much fun to communicate with words. I grew up enjoying every area that had to do with writing, especially if there was a creative twist to it. I feel fortunate to have that kind of relationship with language. I appreciate stories, good articles, and books. Along the way, I have been able to share with others my joy of writing and creativity.
