Pretending You’re Here
You’re in my mind and everything’s fine

I like a guy I used to know long ago, who lives far away
I imagine we’re together all the time, and it’s totally ok
We often talk on the telephone, but have yet to touch
It’s been decades since we’ve been that close, and some days it’s just too much
I want him here, so I pretend he’s snuggling me in bed
Some people might call me crazy, to play out fantasies in my head
But what would you do if you felt strong love flowing from your heart?
Would you keep it hidden inside while you’re apart?
There’s no sense hiding when all I feel is sweet
I choose to share my feelings, and one day we will meet
My daydreams will become reality and I know there’s so much more
If I feel this much with just his voice, I can only imagine what else is in store
