Prayer to a Big Number in the Forest
Poem 1 of the Eminent Number Trilogy

Dear Infinity, lord and joker of mathematics, vanishing point of art, yeast of time and space, I thank you for the part of me that feels unbound.
Zero, One and you, nowhere, here and everywhere, never, now and forever, you complete each trinity with an omega beyond my grasp, you fill the space between each alpha and its absence.
As you stand between me and my absence, I offer three installments on eternal debt, the chirp of a cricket hiding in the black, the warmth of a campfire on un-gloved hands, and sharp white stars rippling beyond a hole in moonlit clouds.
