You thought to yourself — who could this be from? You picked it up and left it on the counter next to the egg boiler and then got distracted by the ringing on the phone.
tring tring….you reluctantly picked up the phone and said: Hello!
The voice replied — Hi, this is the dentist's office calling to see if you would like to reschedule the appointment. After a bit of back and forth, we found a suitable date for the torture (I mean teeth cleaning!).
Once you put the phone down, it was just in time for the next class you were teaching. The rest of the day went by really fast; there was some back and forth with a few students and then some disagreements at the faculty meetings, and before you could catch a breath, it was late afternoon.
Tired and exhausted, you mustered enough energy to pour yourself a drink and switch on Netflix, finally time to relax.. or so you thought…, but there were a gazillion things on your mind and the next thing you remember, you were waking up from a nap, and it was almost diner time.
As you got up to pick up your phone to order a yummy soupy ramen bowl, you noticed that letter — beautiful calligraphy letter with your name — sitting on the counter — unopened!
You picked it up and admired the writing and carefully opened the flap, noticing a sense of excitement building — it was an invitation to a meeting — just a time and place and nothing else. You turned it upside down to see if there were any hints and nothing was obvious — now you had puzzlement building — who sent this and why?
