WRITING PROMPT: FINITE NUMBER OF DAYS/TIME
One More, No More
Do you want one more day with those you love, endless hours to express gratitude, or has your time run out?
Take your roll, give ’em a blow, let it fly No such luck knowing when you die
Is your love rubbing four-leaf clovers Erasing other’s treatment as rotten left-overs
Once you’re in, do you hold your breath Or see the 7’s run instead of instant death
No means to measure your skill in luck Place your bet and hope they land lovestruck
Hold your head high and go with your gut Take your leisure and work that new strut
Give your streak a bump while wearing red on Sunday Knock that wood three times, ready to pray and play
It’s been too long to remember my luck turning I’ll spread out thanks and favors and keep yearning.
Thanks, Lucy Dan 蛋小姐 (she/her/她), for the prompt and fun with my wonderfully crappy poem.
Check out her poem, reminding me those mornings are my favorite writing time, where I feel the sunshine in my heart and bring that smile to my face.
