NOTION AND EVERNOTE COMPARISON

Notion vs. Evernote — The Clash of Productivity Titans

You can build your productivity system with Notion, but Evernote will make your life easier.

Designed On Canva

I love productivity apps, especially the ones that make my life easier.

Evernote has been in the market for a long time because it came earlier than Notion.

Taking notes on my iPad or computer has always been a part of my life, so I’ve used Evernote for quite some time.

I must be able to find notes easily when I take them quickly.

I’ve been using Evernote for years and years, and the moment I tried Notion, everything changed.

Here are some things I like about Evernote (compared to Notion) and those I don’t.

Evernote and Notion — my honest comparison.

Evernote has several strong points.

  1. First, it’s simple, super easy to use from a UX perspective, and functional.

2. I think Evernote does a fantastic job, especially if you’re working with PDF files. Notion is struggling on this front for sure. However, uploading the PDFs to my workflow on my Evernote, it’s straightforward to find and research the PDFs.

3. Finding things in Evernote through search is more accessible than in Notion. I can search my documents and files, and the best part — searching within the text is excellent.

4. Evernote is expensive in comparison to Notion. We can use Notion’s free version for most of its functionalities.

5. Incorporating useful integrations into your workflow can significantly boost efficiency and simplify your life.

For example, Evernote works with a wide variety of programs, including Gmail, but Notion is missing several direct key connectors, and you’ve to rely on third-party apps like Zapier.

Who Wins? Notion or Evernote.

When I started using Notion very heavily, I did not end up canceling my subscription to Evernote — for two reasons:

  • First, my entire life has been within Evernote as a second brain.
  • The HOME page and the web clipping within Evernote work well for me.

I never had any issues with losing data or accessing my application within Notion. However, I had many problems with Evernote, like the application failing and slow access to the app on Mac and windows.

Evernote is easy to use regarding UX, but Notion is easier to navigate and find new tools and things.

I like the templates in Notion because it makes my life easier. However, Evernote templates are a game changer too.

I realized that the templates in Notion are simple to use and make me very productive.

Final Verdict.

For me, simplicity and a minimalist approach to the online application are essential because I have so much stuff that I’m juggling, and I want to ensure my applications are as simple as possible.

Notion is getting more popularity, and Evernote is going over a tough period. There was very little competition earlier, but the scenario is completely changed now.

If Evernote wants to compete, it has to seriously review its speed and pricing and innovate on its features and capabilities.

I would like to hear what type of applications you use. For example, do you use Notion, or do you use Evernote? Which one do you like the most? Do you agree with me about these applications’ pricing or simplicity?
