Nothingness Of Us

A poem on falling out of love

Room in New York by Edward Hopper

Lying silently beside a silent someone sucks the life out of me, voice that aches to leave my throat is pushed back by my tongue, it only knows the taste of morning eggs and evening noodles now.

it has forgotten how to build sentences since we only talk in words, constant music helps the ears sometimes and at dinner table, we turn the television on, in bed we’re just inches apart as bodies and few feet apart as souls, awkwardly adjusting in our own home, strangers to each other and strangers to our own selves.

and i write about it, i write about the nothingness of us so you read it someday and put it across the table to discuss, would you?
