Nature Never Fails to Calm the Craziness in My Brain

When My World is in a Whirl, I Take a Walk

I don’t know if it is the rhythm of walking.

The beat of the steps.

Or the act of removing myself from the situation of stress.

Which changes my state of mind.

Walking outdoors seems to have this magical effect.

Taking a walk in nature has always been my savior.

This simple act has the power to change my internal state.

The feel of air blowing on my face.

Flowers in bloom.

The flowing river.

Melting away the negativity that had built up that day.

As I walk the crazy thoughts start to disseminate and fall away.

Like the passing breeze.

I was blessed to take this walk today, in the beautiful Manawatu, New Zealand. I am here as I tend to my unwell father, and I needed to take a step away for some self-care.

Here are more of the beautiful sights I saw on my walk on the walkway.

Next time you feel unease bubbling inside your head.

Or maybe a difficult moment is taking place in your life.

The act of walking in nature seems to be therapy not just for the physical body but also feeds the soul and enriches the senses, calming you down.

Next time you have craziness in the brain just get outside in nature and take a walk, it works for me every time.

I would like to give a shout-out to Jason Edmunds whose new publication “A Taste for Life” is a place for writers to share their stories about life. He will be providing weekly and monthly prompts, so if prompts are your thing, give him some support as he gets this off the ground.
