Namaste — My Name is Manasi

Writing is my passion.

Hi there, my name is Manasi. I am fairly new to Medium (I don’t know for long I am allowed to say that..ha..ha, but I joined in June 2020, so I’m guessing I can use that line for one more month maybe😃). I am an IT Project Manager by the day and a dreamer and a writer at all other times. I joined Illumination last month and am so glad to be a part of this community of prolific and talented writers.

I was born and brought up in Bombay (now Mumbai, but for me, it will always be Bombay), India. The city holds a special place in my heart; it inspired me to write my first poetry at the age of fifteen. The memories of my school years, bus rides along the coast of Bombay and watching the ocean brought the poet in me to life.

Language, literature and poetry have always fascinated me, and I dabbled in writing in my early 20s with some success. My day job slowly took more priority, and I lost touch with my inner voice that always wanted me to write. So here I am, in the proverbial second innings of my life, writing again.

I have been in the United States for the last six years and sometimes miss India a lot, especially during the time of festivals. So, I have decided to write about the festivals of India, all of this month (August has more festivals than any other month in India).
