Oh to swim
Liquid poetry

Been so long since I went swimming Hopes had been progressively dimming
What with social distancing And face masking
“How do I swim?” I thought Private pool access I had not
Finally, the day came for a dip And though the air had a nip
I ventured on with some hesitation But all was forgotten on the occasion
As the water engulfed my body whole And peace inundated my very soul
I kept staring at the cerulean skies The sun, moon, clouds with starry eyes
The trees waving at me with their leaves I wondered if they had any cares or pet peeves
Eyes closed and body floating I tried to experience the innate feeling
In that single moment, I knew unbridled bliss Never realized how much I missed the water’s kiss.
