My Giant Cat Phoebe & The Kitty Cardiologist.
My cat needs a Fitbit.

Who knew? Yes, there are cardiologists who specialize in cats. And, my giant Maine Coon cat, Phoebe needed one.
We were at her regular vet, and she detected a heart murmur and an issue with her brain not recognizing that she’s drinking water.
Poor thing was spending most of her day at her water bowls and in the kitty “powder room”.
So, Phoebe and I dashed to the specialist vet clinic. She had an appointment with the internal medicine specialist AND the cardiologist to address both her heart and water consumption.
(I shone up my credit card for that visit.)
The good news. She’s doing ok for a decade-old kitty.
The Cardiologist said to me,
“You need to take her heart rate and documenting daily. Oh, there are various apps to assist.”
(I might have had an out-of-body experience as I envisioned how taking Phoebe’s heart rate would shake out.)
I then thought — well, I should just get Phoebe a Fitbit and put it on her collar. Not only would I see how many steps she gets per day, but I’d also be able to see exactly how much she sleeps each day — and I’m beyond curious to see if she hits REM or deep sleep. Of course, I’d be able to monitor her heart rate. Stay tuned.
Yes, I did fire up Google to search if fitness trackers on cats was a “thing”.
It is.
Here’s a fun story about a kitty-cat and a Fitbit: http://sipping.coffee/2014/10/29/cat-fitbit-fitness-tracking/
I would have never thought I’d be contemplating a fitness tracker for my cat or a specialist, like a Cardiologist.
This leads me to why specialists (like a GREAT recruiter or cardiologist) are needed!
(If you’re new to my stories — I’m a recruiter, resume, and interview expert. So, my fun stories almost always have a quick tie-in to the topic.)
The Cardiologist showed me a fuzzy picture of Phoebe’s heart. All I saw was a blob. She saw some very intricate detail and could interpret the image.
Recruiters do the same with interpreting resumes and interviews.
We see things you might not.
We’re specialists in all things to do with recruitment.
We know where to find candidates, where to advertise, and how to select the best candidates. We know the market appetite for hourly rates and salaries. We know the best companies to work for. We can spot “canned” interview responses a mile away.
Stay tuned for an update on how the fitness tracker and Phoebe are making out. GRIN.
