Summary

The text is a satirical take on the struggles of seeking fame and financial success through various online platforms and social media trends, despite hard work and following popular advice.

Abstract

The author expresses a sarcastic view of the modern pursuit of fame and fortune by detailing an exhaustive list of activities they have undertaken in the hope of achieving recognition and financial reward. These activities include playing mobile games, participating in surveys, writing about success without having achieved it, engaging on social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok, and even creating a YouTube channel dedicated to doing nothing. Despite reaching the brink of a modest financial milestone, the author humorously laments the physical and social toll of their efforts and questions the sustainability of their current path to success.

Opinions

  • The author is skeptical about the promise that hard work in digital side hustles will lead to success.
  • There is an element of criticism towards the culture of following popular online advice without guaranteed results.
  • The author implies that the number of followers and engagement on social media does not necessarily correlate with one's success or the quality of their content.
  • The text suggests that some individuals may resort to unconventional or unexpected means, such as an OnlyFans page featuring feet, to monetize their online presence.
  • The author seems to mock the idea of influencer culture and the performative nature of social media, where even eating meals becomes a publicized event.
  • There is a sense of desperation and irony in the author's plea for more money, highlighting the unsustainable nature of chasing viral trends for income.
  • The mention of donating to "starving Influencers in America" is a tongue-in-cheek comment on the perceived absurdity of the influencer economy.

My Arm’s Getting Tired

Gimme my money now

My father once told me that if I work hard, everything will fall into place.

But, when?

I’ve done the work.

I honed my thumb dexterity by following the suggestions in all the ‘Side Hustle’ posts. I’ve played all the match 3 puzzle games. I’m on all the survey sites. I check in on my music/game/survey/location tracking app. I’m 95% to a $10 Amazon gift card, BTW. I have literal cramps.

Literally.

I wrote about making $10K.

I didn’t, but I wrote about it— and I don’t even have one hundred followers.

That says something!

I’ve tagged all the high-ranking authors — actual authors — like, AUTHOR authors — who have thousands more followers and many more posts than I do. They’re popular, even though they don’t write about how to be successful.

I’ve Insta-ed my dog, and my food — breakfast, lunch, AND dinner…I actually started eating actual meals. I’ve done trend after trend on Tik Tok. I’ve held up traffic for my fans.

I have a Youtube channel where you can watch me literally do nothing. I am on Patreon, Kofi, and even have a GoFundMe page. If you pay me enough, who knows what I might do.

My Only Fans page is doing okay. Not sure what my feet have to do with writing, but it pays. I’ve donated half my proceeds to starving Influencers in America and even received a thank you for the cup of coffee they were able to buy.

So I don’t think I’m out of line when I say, gimme more money. Hurry because I can’t hold my hand out for much longer.
