Nightmare Fuel
Next Nightmare on Elm Street Will Not Star Ryan Reynolds
or Danny DeVito
Netflix has announced that Nightmare on Elm Street 8: Don’t Fall Asleep…with Amber is now in pre-production. Directed by Tim Burton, the movie follows Johnny Depp, played by Helena Bonham Carter, as he struggles to survive on no sleep, as he is stalked by Freddy Krueger.
Robert Englund stepped away from the project after he realized that he couldn’t compete with Amber Heard who has already been in everyone’s nightmares. Johnny must defeat Amber, played by Amelia Clark, before she ruins another one of Johnny’s pillows. The ending scene between Krueger and Edward Scissorhands is touted to be the most heartwarming bloodbath to ever soak the big screen.
When asked about the choice to cast someone who happens to be a character in the same movie, Tim Burton stared at the interviewer, not enough to end the interview, but enough to make his eyes well up with tears.
Burton went on to volunteer the fact that he doesn’t choose his movie projects. He molds his projects around Helena Bonham Carter and Johnny Depp. Concepts are usually revealed in a painstaking stop-motion dream brought forth after Johnny and he had intensely stared at each other for three hours.
NOTE: While you were reading this article, Netflix announced it has canceled the production of Nightmare on Elm Street 8 and has replaced it with some movie starring Ryan Reynolds with an intriguing English-language title, an even more intriguing thumbnail, and Ukrainian audio.
