Medium Top Writer Tags
A comprehensive list of the Medium top writer tags that can be displayed on your profile

This list if a follow up to a post where I discussed how to become a Top Writer on Medium.
Specifically, I focused on the importance of tagging your articles strategically:
This list contains 73 tags. These are only tags that I have found, so please message me or comment below if there are other I can add. These tags are very useful as a resource because they are the only Medium tags which are eligible for top writer status.
Not to be confused with the list of possible curation topics described in a previous article, there are currently only 73 topics eligible for top writer status. If you want to be a top writer you must use these tags in your posts.
As an example, the fictitious article The Impact of Internet Marketing on X Industry, can include the tags: internet, internet marketing, technology, future, business, and it is still eligible for curation in Marketing (one of the possible curation topics).
However, the views a writer receives through this article will only count toward top writer status in technology, future, and business, because out of the 5 sample tags, these are the only 3 on the list of 73 eligible topics for top writer status (as seen below)
What are Tags and How Can I View the Top 50 Writers?
Tags can be found through Medium’s search function but more commonly are seen at the bottom of the page, after an article:

In the example below, if we click on the “Books” tag at the end of an article, we now see the information associated with the “Books” tag.

This screen shows you the selected tab (in the red box), some of the related tags (on the left), and a tab that is labeled “Top writers” (in the green box). If you click on that tab you will see the top 50 writers associated with this specific topic.
