May — the Month of Merriment

It’s all flamboyantly, flabbergastingly, frolicking floweriness!

Life’s been a bit … lifeish … recently, so I’m a lot behind with my photos. I couldn’t miss out May, though, with all its incredible neighbourhood floweriness!

Starting with lush peonies above.

Clematis and honeysuckle.

Chilean lantern tree, lemon-coloured snapdragons, Salvia ‘Hot Lips’.

Then we spotted this truck with hand-painted mushroom-type, fungi sort-of pictures on it. What with those and the handmade wooden stable-doors it looked very odd seeing it parked in a city street. It does look as if it should be parked in a woodland glade.

It was only later when I was wondering what it was for that I started thinking — hmmm … mushrooms … magic ones, maybe … Surely not, though. So I looked them up — Psilocybin mushrooms, that is, and it might be just exactly that. Really? Just brazenly on the street … ? Anyway, apparently, once picked they turn blue, so I reckon — yes, it might be just exactly that.

Lots of these little roses clamber around the place — some shedding marvellous fragrance as we brush by.

Clematis, and on the right above — I do like these little daisies — they will happily spread themselves around the place — I think they look great, but some people root them up as soon as they appear. They’re often found cosying up to the little blue campanula.

And — oh look! Another little wildflower flourishing in the long grass.

Foxgloves on the left, and, on the right, I noticed the fab shape to the arch above the doors. All the roads around here have something or other common to their houses that is different to the other roads. This one is those arches.

After trotting around the neighbourhood, checking out other people’s flowers, PupperJack’s keen on taking up gardening. He reckons it’ll be fun.

Dennett started the Photo-a-Day Challenge to help combat the pandemic blues.

Since then many others kindly share their week with us:
