A Taste for Life Publication’s monthly theme and an information update.

In this story, I would like to share with our community the monthly theme for March 2024 at A Taste for Life. In addition, there are also a couple of important updates I would like to bring to your attention.

March 2024 Monthly Theme:

I believe that humans are social beings. We crave interactions, bonds, and relationships with other people.

Some of our relationships will develop into a friendship, a romantic, or a lifelong relationship. Others will unfortunately not. A friend of mine once said, “Don’t be sad when a friendship ends but celebrate the good times you shared with someone.”

Our relationships with others seem to consist of intricately woven and fragile thin threads.

They have the potential to create beautiful and magical moments during our lifespans. Occasionally, relationships turn into negative, and abusive interactions. This is so sad, disrespectful, and painful when it happens.

The monthly theme at A Taste for Life is “Relationships” this month. It is an open-ended monthly theme and writing prompt.

I am sure by now many of you already have an idea for a story that formed in your mind about relationships. If not, what is the first word, or memory you think about when you hear or read the word relationships?

Below are some questions and statements to ponder about relationships that may inspire a story, poem, or article. You are welcome to use one that whispers to you as a writing prompt.

  1. What does the word friendship or relationship mean to you? Why?
  2. Friendships are an important concept for humans.
  3. What characteristics do you look for in your friends or life partner?
  4. Describe a moment in time when you felt truly understood by a friend or your partner. What made that connection significant?
  5. Does destiny play a role in bringing two people together as friends or as lovers?
  6. A friend or loved one challenged your perspective on an important issue. How did that experience impact your relationship with them?
  7. If you get the option to advise your younger self on friendships or relationships what important facts will you discuss/share?
  8. Communication can have an impact on a healthy relationship. How do you handle difficult conversations with those closest to you?
  9. Boundaries in friendships and romantic relationships are important. Do you agree with this statement? How do you communicate them to others and how do you respond when they are tested?
  10. Reflect on a time when you experienced a significant betrayal of trust in a relationship. How did you cope with that betrayal?
  11. Cultural factors can shape our relationships with others.
  12. How do you navigate potential conflict situations at work with your boss or colleagues?
  13. Technology and social media addiction harm relationships. How did you deal with the addiction conflict?

Within the March 2024 monthly theme lies a treasure chest of emotions and experiences waiting to be explored. You are welcome to share them with our community if you are comfortable doing so.

The theme also invites reflection on concepts such as loyalty, love, trust, laughter, and forgiveness, to name but a few.

I am interested in finding out where this monthly theme will take you and your muse during March 2024.

A Taste for Life Updates:

a) Featuring one of your recent A Taste for Life stories

Many of the stories we write sometimes get buried quickly under tons of stories written daily on Medium.

I have received wonderful stories from many of our writers. I would like to feature one of your stories chosen by you over the next couple of weeks in a special newsletter edition entitled “Celebrating Life.”

If you published a story, poem, or article during the last 4 months via this publication that you would like to feature in Celebrating Life, send me a link in the comments of this story or a private message.

b) Community spirit

The mindset at “A Taste for Life” publication is “Ubuntu” (humanity.) Together we develop, grow, and support each other as a community, and individually, as writers.

Thank you to everyone who features a story from another writer in their stories. It is heartwarming to see how you support each other.

c) Publishing times

I try to publish a submitted story as soon as it is possible for me. At times, within 30 minutes after I received a notification.

Other times it takes longer — between 6 and 20 hours. A variety of factors influence publishing times (a full-time job, not receiving a notification, day vs night time submissions, etc.)

I wish you a wonderful transitional month from Winter to Spring or vice versa. May the changes refresh and rejuvenate you.
