Poetry | Challenge

Love, Hope, Life, Friendship, Season, Children, Infinite, Vision, Integrity, Medieval and Camouflage.

A single response to a selection of collected prompts. Bam!

Photo by Casper Johansson on Unsplash

I’ve received a flurry of enthusiastic challenges from many talented poets to participate in the never ending poem challenge. As I understand it, this challenge originated with Martin Rushton.

Thanks Martin for sending me down a rabbit hole of reading, which is always a great place to be. ❤

I’ve decided to respond to several challenges at once, a tactic I copied from the talented Chirag.

The collected prompts are: Love, Hope, Life, Friendship, Children, Infinite, Vision, favorite Season, Integrity, Medieval and Camouflage.

Wish me luck!

A Never Ending Poem

Each beginning is a thought. A shared intention of infinite vision created by my inner child, cleverly armed with a long wooden stick camouflaged as the lance of a medieval knight.

Unlimited imagination reflects the love of a well lived childhood.

Infused with wonder I stand beside him in the winter of my life, with a gathering of hope that reveals my integrity.

Then we joust.

Thanks to the following poets for their challenges. Take your time and read their poems.

Medieval by Martin Rushton the original challenger of the never ending poem

Children by Sumera Rizwan

Infinite by Amy Marley

Vision by Mike Maher

Integrity by Aly Dal

Camouflage challenge by Tej

Love, Life, friendship, and favorite Season by Chirag, who inspired me to combine these prompts into a single poem.

Love by Martine Weber

Hope by Ayasha Khan

If you enjoyed this poem, have a look at my book, We Swallow Light. It’s an exploration of events in a past life and a refreshing take on overcoming pain and the joy of finding love.

If you’re interested in more writing challenges, follow Timothy Key as he challenges himself each day in July 2020.
