POETRY/POETRY PROMPT
Let Go
A response to the poetry prompt “the center of power within the family unit”

My brother’s off to Dallas. His sisters couldn’t care less.
When family ties are worn and bent, there’s power in estrangement.
Power in the leaving. Power in the grieving.
Go on and cry and then be done. Just know you’re not the only one.
My brother’s off to Dallas. His sisters couldn’t care less.
Our parents may have felt the loss, but as they’re dead, don’t give a toss.
Thank you to Jupiter Grant for the always-inspiring tag. Any, for anyone who wants to play with us, please do!
