DRABBLE STORY ARC #1: UNTIL LUCK RUNS OUT
Let Death Wait His Turn
A chapter of a ‘choose your own’ story — drabble edition!
This is a continuation of You Are Dead, a Choose Your Own Adventure Story — Drabble Edition started by Bradan Writes Stories. Find out how to contribute here, or return to the previous chapter: “The Ancient Artefacts Vanish Before Your Eyes” by JF Danskin or “Is This Reality?” by P. L. Goaway.
You wander off. At first, you are listening carefully in case they call out with more instructions. But you hear nothing more, and begin to look around.
For some reason, the pursuit by Death feels less urgent all of a sudden. Maybe it’s the crowd… or the delicious smells. You stop to sample some cheeses, then a pastry. The merchant scowls, and you move on.
Now you see a wine stall set up in front of two large tents. Could there be more booze inside?
You have no money, but could certainly use a drink after all you’ve been through!
You decide to:
- Push your way between the tents, looking for something to steal (click here).
- Carry on further into the market (click here).
Thanks for reading! This is a collaborative story and you can add a chapter with an alternative path, or a whole new story of your own if you like! Come join us at Choose Your Own Adventure–Collaboration to contribute, or check out the examples below.
