For I Am Many— Poetry
My voice echoes strongly Through the darkest of alleys My thoughts spread like a virus They cross oceans and valleys My ideas; they spark changes They cause motion and force And my enemies fear me For they can’t change my course I will push, I will pull I’m relentless and loud You can’t stop me, nor hold me You cannot mute me out All your lies, I’ll expose them All your fears, I’ll control them What you’ve done, I will show them Until all the world knows
Your true face How you try, pulling strings Spreading lies, seeding hate You call yourselves leaders But your acts yell “disgrace!” So you send out your bloodhounds Sniff me out, hunt me down But your efforts are futile You will not keep your crown You can’t bribe me Not jail me Not kill nor Defame me You keep asking my name But my name changes daily Today I’m Chris, then I’m Paul Tomorrow I’m Sarah or Jenny You can’t find me, I’m Legion For I am many
