PHOTO-A-DAY CHALLENGE
Last Days at Work and Adventuring up North
Week 81 of the photographic documentary of my daily life
The last days before heading out on a vacation are usually when the excitement for the trip increases by the minute. While we still had a few days of work ahead of us, we were already much happier just because we knew we’d be leaving soon.
On Thursday I woke up earlier than usual and got to see a spectacular sky before the sun rose. Sunrises are always special but if you’re lying in bed while watching the sky turn colors it’s even more special.

In the region we live in you don’t get to see big herds of cattle but there’s a group of 3-4 animals that walks almost daily past our landing area.
As I was driving home from work today I saw the rain across the lake and knew I wasn’t gonna make it home dry. I stopped next to these cows, put on my raincoat, and continued the drive. Not even a minute later I was caught in a heavy downpour.

Today I went out onto the landing area after jumping to take some pictures for my latest writing prompt. “Turn your world upside down” is how I challenge fellow writers to see the world with different eyes.
While taking a few pictures upside down I spotted these puddles and captured the clouds reflecting in the still water.

This was the last day of work before heading out onto our 9-day vacation. On one of the jumps, I only realized in the plane the client had only booked video and not the photos as well.
I had my large DSLR camera already on my helmet and with me so I decided to use it anyways. To take some pretty photographs of the landscape. While flying around under the parachute I used my tongue switch to capture what was unfolding in front of my eyes.

We got up really early to head to the airport and start our vacation. A small mishap delayed our flight for about 5 hours but that didn’t stop us from getting excited about the days ahead of us.
We eventually arrived in Thailand’s North and started the road trip.

Being at the end of the dry season some of the mountain slopes are rather brown and dry. But the view across these hills was incredibly spectacular. Lots of lush green was stretching over the mountains.
I just love those views. There is so much to see and spot in the distance. During sunset, we almost spent 4 hours at this specific viewpoint. Those were amazing hours spent together.

We ventured out for another hike today. No humans around to be seen after we left the car park. It was just us, birds, and other creatures of the forest. The path was well maintained through this thick rainforest.
But now and then the path offered us some stunning views out onto the lush mountain slopes of Doi Phu Kha National Park. What a beautiful landscape.

This has been my week in photographs. 7 days. 7 photographs. Anyone can join. Once. Or weekly. It doesn’t matter. We welcome everyone! Dennett was the one starting this photography challenge in summer 2020 and many have participated ever since.
