She was running fast, tiny feet slapping down the dark corridor of the condo, towards her brother’s room, away from the someone chasing her.

Suddenly a hand gripped her and she woke up screaming.

On hearing their daughter’s cries, Sal jumped up, “I’ll go.”

Brin watched her leave and sighed.

In the bedroom, Sal gently rocked the sobbing child, “You’re OK. Mummy’s here now. It was just a dream sweetheart.”

Later, when the child slept, Sal returned to the lounge.

“Brin, I think she’s remembering.”

Brin scowled, “No, she can’t. She mustn't.”

“But, what if she…?”

She’s our daughter now.
