The benefits, effectiveness, and importance of journaling

That is a question, I have asked myself. It wasn’t until I saw how journaling was benefitting my son that I became a believer in it. You can read about that experience in this story.

Little did I know that some very famous people were journalers. This article lists some of those people, names you’ll recognize. Albert Einstein, Marie Curie, Mark Twain, and Thomas Edison are a few of the people mentioned. And that’s the tip of the iceberg.

I’m beginning my own journey into journaling. The images below answer some of the questions I have been asking myself as I understand the many facets of journaling. With apologies to Mr. Shakespeare, let’s begin 😃

Journaling helps you touch a feeling. One of the best explanations I’ve ever heard about journaling is this. You can think a feeling, you speak a feeling but if you REALLY want to touch a feeling, you need to write.

Journaling can take as little or as much time as you like. Begin or end your day with a journaling routine. The amount of time is not as important as the commitment to make time to journal.

Journaling topics are open-ended. Write about anything you want. Use prompts as a guide or write about whatever comes to mind.

Journaling Rule #1: There are no rules. You decide what is best for you. If it’s a pen and paper, fine. If it’s a computer keyboard, fine. Or if it’s an app on your phone, fine.

Journaling doesn’t have to be complicated. Start with what you have. If you have a pen and a piece of paper, you can start right now. Don’t let the system get in your way. Clarity comes with action.

Daily Doable: I hope you’ll consider following my journey into journaling. I have some fun and unique ways I want to look at this topic. One is using my ACRONYM Template. Get your free template below.
