Jeff’s Trek Through the Desert

It seemed like a good idea at the time…

This drabble (100-word story) is a response to Making Your Characters Squirm! (Idea 7), written by JF Danskin at The Fiction Writer’s Den.

Jeff felt like he’d been walking for days. It had only been around three hours, but it had been a torturous three hours in the desert heat. And things weren’t going exactly as planned.

The night before Jeff had been bragging to his roommates about how he could survive in any environment. What he didn’t expect was to be called out on it. Nevertheless he was confident in his skills. Or rather, he had been.

As he trudged along wearing his boxers as a hat, drinking his own urine out of a snakeskin, he began to rethink his life choices.

This 23rd drabble is written as part of the “100 Story Challenge” by @Zane Dickens.

Thank you for reading my drabble. I’d love to hear your responses.
