Challenge

It Started With a Whisper

My 10-Word Short Sweet Response

Photo by saeed karimi on Unsplash

Many writers are involved in this 10–word challenge that began with Sheri Jacobs who wrote the original invitation back in July.

I received my first challenge in August from Tree Langdon. Her story was captivating.

I love a good challenge and I could not resist joining the fun. I became slightly obsessed and wrote my 10–word story in 10 chapters.

I tagged several others to join the fun. Several responses included this self-talk article from Vidya Sury, Collecting Smiles. Vidya chose to increase the challenge even higher by making haikus with ten words. More fun!

There were many other responses. I do not have all the names. September came and went. I was too busy with my 30-Day Challenges to read much.

Recently, I was tagged by Dr. Gabriella Korosi with her 10–word story. Except… Gabriella has issued an extension to the challenge. She started the beginning of a new 10-word story. Does anyone want to continue the story?

Within the blink of an eye, the challenge was accepted by Lola Rosario. She added a wonderful second line to continue the story.

I discovered that I genuinely do enjoy challenges. Now I need to add my line to continue the story.

To sum it all up, we have two 10–word sentences from Gabriella and Lola to begin our story.

Stepping forward into the unknown future awakened her inner sight.

This fierce guerrera knew the ancestors would always guide her.

To continue the storyline, here is my contribution.

Although she did not recognize her future, she felt safe.

There it is. The continuing challenge. I have tagged a few others to continue this silliness. Play along if you feel like it. I hope you have fun.

I look forward to hearing how this story ends.
