Summary

The article discusses the pervasive nature of fear in human life, its impact on behavior and health, and the possibility of overcoming it through spiritual and metaphysical practices.

Abstract

The article "Is It Really Possible To Cast Out Fear?" delves into the concept of fear as a dominant force in human existence, influencing actions, thoughts, and societal structures. It explores the physiological effects of fear, such as the release of cortisol and the fight-or-flight response, and suggests that fear resonates a vibration that can manifest in reality through mechanisms like the law of attraction. The text argues that fear, along with its twin, doubt, are deeply rooted in the collective consciousness and can lead to various negative outcomes, including depression and conflict. However, the article offers hope by presenting strategies to overcome fear, such as becoming an observer of one's thoughts and emotions, practicing love and heart consciousness, and living in the present moment. It emphasizes that by shifting one's identity from the ego to the soul, individuals can transcend fear and doubt, achieving a state of peace and unconditional love.

Fear is a pervasive experience in our world. Fear is integral to so many of the things we say and do — some instances are overt and some deceivingly subtle. Consider how easily we get offended when we fear that our identity or capabilities are in question — can you feel that inner twinge when you remember such incidents? Consider also how most prayer is supplicatory because it emerges from fear and doubt — even the prayers of atheists!

The fear list is huge, far exceeding this series of examples: fear of death, fear of disaster, fear of injury, fear of loss, fear of pain, fear of disease, fear of shame, fear of being heretical, fear of the unknown, fear of not measuring up, fear of rejection, even fear that we might cause uncomfortable feelings in others. And of course, fear of things, creatures, and situations to which we attach our fears.

Fear is at the root of: blame-casting, bullying, conspiracy theory, abuse, hate, racism, and wars of all sizes. Fear and doubt are systemic in the human culture, intrinsic to the world collective consciousness. Consider how almost all institutions thrive by manipulating fear and doubt: marketing, politics, religions, military, nationalism, tribalism, and so forth.

Fear Activates Our Fight/Flight Mechanism — MidJourney V6

Fear triggers cortisol which shuts down the prefrontal cortex, allowing the amygdala, a locus for regulating emotional activity, to take over, inducing mental paralysis and panic to various degrees. Fear activates our fight-flight mechanism. It causes this cortisol — the bodies stress hormone — to be released from the adrenal glands. The consequence of persistent fear can proceed to a chronic addiction to cortisol, resulting in chronic anxiety.

From a metaphysical and spiritual view point, some consider fear a magnet that draws what it focuses upon to itself.

Even quantum science recognizes that everything is electromagnetic frequency and vibration which seems to manifest when it is observed. And fear does resonate a vibration that people and animals sense and recognize in bodily characteristics.

Then there is what some consider a universal rule: the law of attraction which suggests what one holds one’s attention upon will actualize for that person, even if it is subconscious attention. This idea finds a parallel in the biblical verse that indicates a person’s fears will come upon them (Job 3:25–26, KJV), with yet another parallel being what people call a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Fears Tend To Manifest in Self-Fulfilling Prophecies — MidJourney V6

Which fears inhabit and inhibit your consciousness or subconscious?

The fears I’m speaking about are not an aware response to a present danger, such as knowing not to walk in front of oncoming vehicles or not to grab a hot pan on the stove without a potholder — and such as that. As for the subconscious, yes, we can become conscious of latent fear in our subconsciousness and dissipate it. Becoming more conscious of underlying fear and then clearing it is a healthy practice.

Now, in spite of an internal web of fear and a prevailing climate of fear around us, there is a way to overcome. We can become aware of the triggers and the response our bodies make by observing from our higher consciousness, so that when we observe it happening, we immediately stop and breathe slowly and deeply while becoming heart conscious. And I’m not speaking only of our physical heart, but particularly of our soul heart from which love proceeds. It is said that perfect love casts out fear. The more we operate from our intuitive loving heart instead of reacting to stimuli from the world, the more fear abates until it is gone.

Fear is said to be the last restrictive influence to leave our human awareness when we are finally imbued with and governed by our soul consciousness. More on this to come.

Submerged in Doubt — MidJourney V6

For the moment, let’s attend to fear’s evil twin: Doubt.

Doubt is equally pervasive in the world collective consciousness. Think of it as a frequency you have many times tuned into. Doubt sparks fear and fear promotes doubt, while together they invoke a barrage of rational thought to both justify and repress the feelings they induce.

Can we actually overcome fear — the fear that incites depression, self-pity, anger, rage, blame-casting, cruelty, sorrow, disease and more. Is it possible? With doubt and fear so hugely influential, stemming from the frequencies of the collective consciousness in the airwaves around us, does it mean people are hopelessly trapped? Destined to be manipulated by it?

Fear Emanates From The Collective Consciousness — MidJourney V6

Instead of delving into our subconscious, let’s take a perspective of fear and doubt as elements of the world culture.

This perspective means there is no reason to take them personally. And though it might seem they are impossible to escape, embodied humans already have a core-being that is immune to doubt and fear. That being is pure soul consciousness which is the observer in our life — the observer able to watch the thoughts and emotions of our world persona, often called ego. This observer is our authentic being, our core I Am.

It is by identifying as our soul consciousness instead of as our world persona that provides us the means to rise above collective consciousness and it’s debilitating effects. It is because of the vast prevalence of fear and doubt that these enfeebling frequencies are pretty much the last for us to be untethered from. Another reason this is so, is because the words and thoughts imbued with these frequencies inhabit the fourth dimensional set of frequencies where all thought ever thought is said to exist. This means that even when free from their effects, it is possible to observe them, to have fleeting glimmers of them.

Evil Twins of Fear and Doubt — MidJourney V6

The frequencies of the evil twins of fear and doubt are interlaced with concepts that manifest in the vibration of words.

Because of this, the key to immunity to them is to be the observer and not engage when we do get a whiff of either of them. Doubt and fear are like bosom buddies. Where one is, the other is lurking! Two sides of the same coin. The obvious question that arises is how to unravel and extract these enervating evil twins from our habitual neurological pathways? Yes, we’ve all felt them — we can all give testimony to that! Yet never fear or doubt, we can extricate ourselves!

The Key is Observation.

The minute we see one of these in our thoughts or emotions, the culprit is identified. When it is identified by our higher observational being — yet not engaged with — it has no power. We disempower it by observing but not engaging, and instead simply visualize it blown up and drifting into oblivion like dust in the wind.

Fear and doubt are nothing but the drama we give them. Don’t give them drama in our consciousness and they are nothing.

Fear and Doubt Manifesting as Provocative Words — MidJourney V6

Practicing being conscious of only the present moment is how we nullify fear and doubt.

Practicing being conscious only of the present moment gives us the power to recognize we are not our past which is the baggage where fear and doubt skulk, nor are we a fearful or doubtful future which is a projection of past thoughts.

Becoming purely conscious, aware, attentive wherein we do not harbor thoughts is the state of consciousness of our true being. Here, the wisdom we need will come to us intuitively on an as-needed basis. Moreover it is the place where concepts and their associated words become creative instruments instead of weapons. This is the place of peace that passes understanding where we really do abide in unconditional love.

Many have heard that perfect love casts out fear, and there are burgeoning numbers of people beginning to experience it is so. Being rid of fear is a huge relief, this fear that incites depression, self-pity, frustration, anger, rage, blame-casting, cruelty, sorrow, disease and more. Considering these, you may still wonder: can we really be rid of fear?

It is said that our personal reality is precisely what we are conscious of. Therefore if we change what we are conscious of, we change our reality.

Practicing Being Conscious of Only The Present Moment — MidJourney V6

A big question remains: what is this perfect love?

In my estimation and ability to describe it, it is the very nature of what we call Prime Being or God or All That Is. It is our higher nature, our soul rooted in spirit. I consider we are the fractal extensions and individuated consciousness of the One Consciousness. We are the expression and experience of God.

Many over the millennia have found they can live from their higher nature instead of their world-conformed fearful ego. From these masters and saints we have inherited helpful clues such as “above all put on love” and die to the “old man”, the ego. Our world-forged ego has no substance, it is all imagination and illusion we began dressing up in since we were babes. It is a sense of identity. Yet our higher nature is our true identity, our eternal being—in which there is no fear.

By intent and choice we can transition our sense of identity so we live from our true being. And it is a choice wherein there is no right or wrong. Some will choose to remain submerged in the drama of the world, and that is okay. We each have our own life mission.

In conclusion to how we banish fear, some age old axioms give us practical advice:

  • Fear not!
  • Be still and know.
  • Above all put on love…

Yes, these axioms have the scent of religious dogma. Consider however, that when they have become actualized in a person, the last shreds of religion are Kapoof! whether that actualization occurs in this life or another. Finally, in all of this, there is no pressure, no need to fear getting somewhere or being left behind, for the only reality that actually exists is the present moment, and we all infinitely have that.

A Brief Testimony

I consider that a person can experience fear bodily while the person’s spirit does not submit to the anxiety of the nervous system and emotions, but courageously faces whatever the challenge is. In this way, we might comprehend fear, observe it in our flesh, but not be manipulated by it.

In my case, when hurricane Irma was predicted to hit our area in Florida, I began to “feel” in my body a sort of hurricane PTSD stemming from 2004 when we had to prepare for or try to escape from three hurricanes in one season. As soon as I recognized the psycho-physical energy building in me, that very recognizing was an overcoming. I turned that fight/flight anxiety into the vitality needed to prepare my yard and house to face Irma. It worked for me.
