Have You Shifted From Your Worldly Lens to Your Soul Lens?
Do You Want a System Upgrade?

We see with our eyes the temporal manifestation of the physical world, yet not anywhere near all of it with our physical eyes alone. Our eyeballs are actually designed to see only a limited range of the light spectrum. This means if our “seeing” is limited to our eyes, we are stuck with a narrow scope of vision. Technology can help a little, letting us see ultra-violet and infrared for instance, yet that is only an infinitesimally small expansion.
And what about our other physical receptors — hearing, smell, taste, touch?
Can we agree that our physical bodies are limited, that all five physical senses are attuned to a very narrow bandwidth within a low frequency range? Now consider the possibility that our sentient soul can know infinitely beyond the restrictions of our physical body, and moreover that we can learn to quiet our busy chattering mind and shift to the perceptual awareness of our soul as our default.
Let’s begin by considering something we can observe that is beyond the scope of physical vision: our own behavior. We have the capacity to observe how our own self-constructed world-conformed identity responds to the stimuli and drama of our world experience. Observing this persona is not done with our eyeballs or even our brain.
For instance, there are innumerable testimonies of people who have been “outside themselves” observing their own body lying unconscious on an operating table, in some cases considered brain-dead. Yet we don’t have to be on an operating table, but just sitting in our living room to observe our busy earth-oriented mind (definitely not brain-dead) as it seeks through kitchen cupboards and fridge for an acceptable treat. In other cases we can watch our emotional reaction as we take offense to someone’s comment.

In accord with these phenomena that exemplify the two lenses (one looking for treats and the other watching that behavior), we can consider that we have a self — a soul — that persists beyond the limitations of a physical body and that it has capacity to see, know, and understand.
As we become acclimated to our own soul-seeing, we find it much more enhanced than the limited range of awareness of our world-forged identity. In fact, if we are in a bind where our limited rational world knowledge offers no relief, by being quiet and attentive to our inner being we can intuit creative ways from or through our soul to resolve our apparent dilemma.
What we observe in this transaction between an inner identity and a world forged identity (persona or ego) is a duality that juxtaposes the two lenses we are calling our world lens and our soul lens. And what I want to impress is that our soul lens can supersede our world lens. This is not speculation, it is my personal experience and testified to by myriads of people today and throughout history—consider some religious mystics and spiritual masters, also master inventors and master musicians.
The world lens reflects a collective world consensus that has its own fractal duality including such things as good and evil, us versus them, and so forth. The soul lens on the other hand offers us a vantage point from our own soul, from our own higher consciousness that exceeds the confines of our body. This consciousness that is our energetic being is individuated (fractalized) Source Consciousness through which we are both a unique expression and experience of Prime Being. From this vantage point we see our world lens is exceedingly narrow and limited, while our soul lens is infinitely comprehensive.

To sum up so far, we have our world lens of temporal understanding that is a response to sensory input and conjecture that displays in our mind. We also have our soul lens, the intuitive understanding that proceeds from our soul through our heart that has no apparent boundaries. We do however in this world translate that soul understanding into our native language to record it in our mind so we can replay and communicate it to others.
In mentioning our heart as receptor, you can refer to the HeartMath Institute for details about the neurology of our heart; how it has a greater range, capacity, and reaction speed than the brain in evaluating circumstances that affect us; and how it sends the appropriate signal for our reaction even before the brain begins to assess the situation. People who are in “the zone” are said to operate from a heart that is functioning coherently with the brain. That is to say, they are operating—even if temporarily—from their soul consciousness where brain chatter has ceased.

Back to our soul lens which I equate with soul consciousness. Soul consciousness is of higher frequencies than world consciousness, and when we finalize a shift to it we have essentially installed an upgrade where the world lens no longer pertains. Our soul consciousness can operate independent of world consciousness, effectually being both in the world and beyond it where the axiom of “being in the world but not of it” perfectly applies.
Besides increased awareness, what might be some benefits of this upgrade?
For starters, knowing our inner being, our soul, and living from it is an adventure into Consciousness where we ultimately experience the love that we are — after which we can truly live from that love to and with others. Beyond that, it’s a very peaceful and happy place to be where we operate from non-judgmental unconditional love. And yes, it is a process to acclimate, though once our earthly being (or ego) stops resisting, we experience a sense of ease and timelessness where, like a child, we can engage in imaginative creative play—for indeed, we are creator beings.

To conclude, there are innumerable self-help books, videos, and articles with tips on making this shift. In a nutshell, the transition from world consciousness to soul consciousness has been the ultimate goal of meditation and mystery schools throughout the ages. And if you have made it this far in my writing, you are already somewhere in the process. In this case, I think it is helpful to know there is no hurry—because there is no destination except to above all enjoy the journey and have fun in the infinite wondrous playground of Consciousness.
