Interesting Thoughts from Other Writers That Made Me Go Hmmm 🤔 or LOL 😂
My Weekly WTA: What The Ah-ha Moments -Issue 8

I wanted to do shoutouts to authors, and I was going to do it in a newsletter, but everyone is doing one of those, it seems. I recently deleted most of the ones I subscribed to and didn’t even read the ones I think are stellar.
I decided that starting my own was not the best investment of my time. However, I still wanted to put together a piece highlighting things I learned or authors that made me laugh hysterically -in a good way.
For all you gift-giving shoppers, you basically have 1 more week to get your presents wrapped and under the Christmas tree 🎄.
This time of year can be incredibly stressful because everyone seems to be focused on making everyone else happy, but don’t forget to take care of yourself, too.
This leads me to my first read to share that makes me go 🤔
This story by Niki Tisza is a gentle reminder that we must take care of ourselves as writers and not chase after likes for the sake of it.
But instead, write for meaning and what’s important to us.
Now this next one will have you 😂
This one by 🌬️Mitch had me cringing and laughing at the same time.
If you have ever had problems with any kind of creepy crawler in your house, you will be able to relate.
However, I must acknowledge that the issues I’ve faced pale in comparison to Mitch’s.
This next piece will also have you in stitches 😂

As writers on the platform, all things Medium make us go 🤔
I love data and statistics, so I loved reading about the interesting numbers Yana Bostongirl put out recently.
In addition to Yana’s article, Linda Caroll stated this interesting tidbit in her Substack post recently: 60% of Medium users are middle-aged professionals, and approximately 53% earn more than $100,000 annually.
Finally, my last picks will have you doing a bit of this 🤔
- This piece of poetry by Nancy Santos poignantly describes a standard medical procedure to deliver a baby using an unlikely yet incredibly effective metaphor.
- Another piece of poetry by ziva avraham creates a post about pain and loss. It’s a visually written piece of art that will have you feeling 😢💔.
Mine this week will have you going 🤔and 😂
- First up, my article about Medium followers. This is an interesting look at who might be following you and why you want to find out who they are.
- Lastly, even us grown-ups have our wish lists. This year, I asked Santa Medium if he might be willing to grant a few for us.
Happy Reading!
In the meantime, I will keep discovering, keep laughing, and keep the ‘ah-ha’ moments coming. So, Stay tuned for more exciting thoughts next time that will make you go Hmmm 🤔 or LOL 😂.
