Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy’s 70-Hour Workweek Advice
A Reminder for the Famous to Watch Their Words
Narayana Murthy doesn’t need an introduction. He started an IT revolution in India. Indian youngsters dreamed of joining Infosys more than dating Madhuri Dixit. Getting a job in Infosys became a great validation of a student’s success. Parents proudly announced their child securing a job at Infosys.

Back in 2007, when I got an opportunity to be hired by Infosys, my family finally felt all their hard work in educating me was about to pay off. However, I didn’t accept the offer as my salary expectations didn’t match. I managed to disappoint my family (once again) 😃.
Narayana Murthy has always been in the news for good reasons until recently when he said Indian youngsters should work 70 hours a week. What a horrible statement to make in today’s world where work-life balance is so important and when some countries are experimenting with even shorter work weeks.
But thanks to him, he gave writers a compelling topic. There are heaps of articles published explaining how wrong he is.

Narayana Murthy is likely experiencing the downsides of being famous for the first time. This reminds me how careful I should be while providing opinions in public after I attain fame 😃.
