I’m Tired Of Hearing Everyone Complain About What’s Going On In The World

It seems like everywhere we look there is death and destruction, with no hope for the future. I’m not naive, there are plenty of problems and things could and should be better, but is it really as bad as we think?

The 24-hour news cycle and social media make it easier to spread news and information, as well as lies and misinformation. It’s harder than ever to see the truth amongst the lies. Not to mention the fact that we have become more polarized than ever. Everyone has a side or a belief to defend, or a narrative to push to make money.

Let me be clear I know bad things are happening in the world.

Most people are looking at the war in Ukraine, however, wars and genocides are happening in multiple countries right now. Wealth inequality is at an all-time high and corporate greed is tearing the environment apart and dumping toxic waste in the wounds.

But this is nothing new, people have been doing horrible stupid things for decades.

A growing number of people in the world are struggling to get by. The more desperate we are the harder it is to think about others or the bigger picture.

That’s why we need more honesty and reflection.

How many people on the internet are truly suffering and how many are just seeking attention and validation?

The people who are really in need and really deserve sympathy don’t have time to spend their whole day arguing about things on the internet.

Most of the people posting memes or launching accusations online are doing it for their own benefit. Not because it will help them in any real material way, but because it makes them feel better about how little they are doing with their lives.

Real change and progress are hard and take time. Ranting about things on Twitter is easy and can be done from the toilet.

The more we focus on ideological differences and name-calling the more upset and isolated we become.

Those of us who are fortunate, myself included, need to do more to help.

There are real problems in the world, and people who are suffering.

Those of us who have resources and opportunities need to stop acting like victims. We need a reality check. I see it all the time, even on this site, people crying and complaining about things they don’t fully understand.

We see someone we don’t like doing something so its evil and they are wrong. We see someone we like doing something and we defend it no matter what. Neither of those things is healthy or productive.

The more we continue to fight and argue because that is what others are doing, the more we feed into the problems that exist in the world.

Our fake problems and desire to be victims, take away from those who are really in need.

If you want to make a positive change in the world, stop following the mob, think about things, and be honest with yourself.

I am very blessed and fortunate to be who I am and where I am in life, that is why I think it’s so important for people like me to do more to help those really in need.

So continue posting memes and attacking people online if that makes you feel better but understand you aren’t solving any problems, you’re just doing it for yourself.
