I’m still learning from Pigs!
So I just started working my new strategy combining DRIP & AFP in the Pig Pen. This is what I learned…

So I’ve started working my new strategy, working DRIP, from the DRIP Faucet, with AFP, in the Pig Pen…
This is what Step #5, in the article above, states:
- Convert DRIP withdrawn, every Saturday, into AFP, via Pancakeswap. (Keep at least 0.05 BNB in wallet for gas fees.)
Converting DRIP to AFP
Before we start looking at what happened when I tried to do step #5, we first need go back to step #4. (Go read the article to learn about all the steps in this new strategy.)
I was able to withdraw 5.017 DRIP ($3.60) from my DRIP Faucet.
I then attempted to convert the DRIP into AFP, via Pancakeswap but got the following error.

Since I got this message, I then had to do it the long way. Ugh!
- Convert DRIP back to BNB on DRIP swap page (pay gas fee)
- Convert BNB amount from above to BUSD via Pancake swap (pay another gas fee)
- Buy AFP with BUSD on Animal Farm swap page (Pay an even bigger gas fee)
So I was able to convert my 5.017 DRIP ($2.91 after converting to BNB) into 0.0295603 AFP, the long expensive way…
Staking my newly converted AFP
Here’s what I had earned before staking the AFP
- 0.001415389 AFP earned since 1/1/23
- 2.024688 BUSD earned since 1/1/23
I then was able to stake my newly converted 0.0295603 AFP into the Pig Pen. It cost me 0.0125 BNB ($3.26) in gas fees.
After I staked the 0.02 AFP, my earnings (both AFP & BUSD) went to zero.
What?!?!
What indeed happened…
My 2.024688 BUSD was deposited into my wallet & the earned AFP was compounded back into my staked balance.
- So I was able to to stake 0.0295603 AFP, which was worth $2.93829382 USD.
- While staking this new AFP, my 0.001415389 AFP ($0.14) earned since 1/1/23 was also staked as well.
- The 2.024688 BUSD was then deposited into my wallet, just like a regular compound.
So, I paid $3.26 in gas fees to stake $2.93 in AFP, while withdrawing $2.02 from the earned balance.
This means that I was in the red $1.24 after this transaction but at the same time increased my earnings 1.44%.
To put this in perspective, I did this yesterday, & now my earnings are at 0.000255794953605168 AFP ($0.02) & 0.33375566087196339 BUSD ($0.33). So I’ve earned around $0.35 since yesterday.
This means that it will take me around 3–4 days of earnings to recoup the net $1.24 from the gas fees.
What did I learn? A lot…
- I need to remember that my earned BUSD will be deposited into my wallet anytime I stake more AFP
- It will cost me around $3.26 in gas fees to stake new AFP.
- As my DRIP balance continues to go up, so does my DRIP withdrawn earnings.
- As my DRIP withdraw continues to go up, it can be converted into higher amounts of AFP.
- When I stake my newly converted AFP into the Pig Pen, my staked balance will continue to rise.
- As my staked balance rises, so does my BUSD earned.
- My BUSD earned amount will eventually be higher than the $3.26 gas fees, if I continue this process over time.
- AFP price is staying pretty high at the moment. Therefore, my earnings in the Pig Pen should stay steady & go up with my staked balance increases.
- I can then keep any earned BUSD to help get me to ROI in both the DRIP faucet & the Pig Pen.
Also, keep in mind that I will continue to deposit more money into the DRIP Faucet per my $100 crypto investment plan.
My hope is that the DRIP price stays low but steady, for at least a little while longer. That way, I can buy & earn more DRIP. Thus, also increasing my AFP staked balance. Thus, increasing my BUSD earnings in the Pig Pen.
As always, time will tell…
