How To Lose Weight | Lifestyle | Mindset
If You’re Serious About Losing Weight, You Should NEVER Do This!
So there is no confusion, I am NOT a nutritionist and do not claim to be. What I say comes from a common sense place in my mind, just to be clear.
If you didn’t know, I run an online fitness website called Top Fitness Strategies. I get questions about fitness and health all the time. I’ll talk about a question I got which puzzled me.
I got this question the other day about weight loss…..
Q: Andrew, I’ve been trying and trying to lose weight, but my body just doesn’t seem to want to lose it. Do you have any ideas that could help me?
This question came from a friend of mine and it got me wondering what is going on with him? Now granted, I don’t see him often, just occasionally in passing and quite frankly, I don’t know if he works out or not, nor do I know what kind of nutrition or diet plan he is following. I’m just assuming, by his question, he’s trying to lose weight, ok?
Here’s what puzzled me…
...I was driving by a fast food place (notice I said DRIVING BY, not GOING TO) and I see this guy in the drive through……on two separate occasions within a few of days.
My first thought was, “this guy really isn’t serious about losing weight”. And I’m not saying this in a negative way, just stating facts.
Now, I believe people over 50 years old are grown-ups, they know which foods are good for them and which are not good for them. If they choose to eat fast foods, so be it. If they choose not to, so be it. It’s not my place to say anything to anyone about it, unless they are my client.
But, I believe I can choose to write about it on a blog, or a social media post,or a Medium story, or shoot a video about it on my YouTube channel.
Sometimes I just blurt out or write out stuff I should keep inside, but I feel this is WAY too important to not speak about, so I’m going to in hopes that someone reading this gets it, and may possibly help them in the health department.
So here goes, If you’re trying to lose weight, going to a fast food place, for whatever reason, is NOT the way to do it. In terms of weight loss, in my book, ANY type of fast food is BAD….PERIOD!
It doesn’t matter to me if all you’re ordering is a salad and a diet soda, my rule of thumb is ANY fast food is BAD! In terms of trying to lose weight, that is.
For other than the weight loss thing, I couldn’t tell you, but for losing weight, fast food equals bad! You can debate me all you want, and we may have a difference of opinion, but bottom line is, fast food does NOT equate to losing weight! Have I made my point clear enough?
All I ask is to be sensible about it folks, that’s the bottom line. If you’re serious about losing weight, you’ll do things that will benefit your seriousness, right?
Let’s think about this logically and use other examples to illustrate my position.
If you’re at a job that pays $50k a year, and you’re goal is to make $100k a year, is doing that same job going to achieve that $100k a year?
Of course not, you’re going to have to change what you’re doing, right? Maybe find another job, or work extra overtime, but you have to do something that will put you in a position to at least help get that $100k a year, right?
The same thing for losing weight. If you want to lose weight, you’ll have to do stuff that will help get to that weight loss goal. So, NOT eating from a fast food place will, most likely, help achieve the goal. Does this make sense?
In other words, you’ll need to change what you’ve been doing to get results different from what you’ve gotten until now.
All I’m saying is, and this goes to anything in life, if you want to change something, you’ll need to change something else. That sentence may sound weird, but read it again and think about it.
I can go on and on about this, but I’m assuming you’ve got the point by now. I can go on and talk health and fitness all day long, but I also write on other subjects as well.
If you like what you just read, and want to read more of my stories on different subjects, I’ll link to a few of them below.
Looking forward to your feedback!
