I know that.

I am sure you do not want to be with a man who easily breaks when something happens (bad) to him.

It is normal to feel sad about things — but when things happen to him, he shows signs of instability.

I recall my teenage years when I was in a relationship — and he could not handle it well. I blame everybody in my circle, including the ex, who had nothing to do with it.

On the other hand, A man who can express — and manage his emotions is someone you can rely on

He is (unafraid) to show how he feels.

Whether happy, sad, loving, or angry — he demonstrates stability in his emotions. This openness and stability are ingredients in any strong relationship.

If you see indicators of weakness — talk about it or turn your back on it.

Understanding his worth

A man who is confident in himself is someone you want to be with for the long haul.

When I was new in relationships, I had a lot of insecurities.

Women in my previous relationships attending events without me — I felt they would meet a better man than me. No wonder — I was not successful in past relationships — insecurity could kill healthy relationships gradually.

A man who understands his worth knows what he wants out of life. He goes after it — and tries to notice it — if he has it.

This kind of man will always be a great partner because he knows how to commit to something and stick with it.

There was a time when I got addicted to just hanging out with someone. It satisfied my ego — and (enjoyed) because it was non-committal.

Women want to have a man that can protect them. A man who is brave and heroic is someone you want to be with

He is the kind of guy who will always stand up for you and protect you, no matter what happens.

He is courageous, and he knows how to handle himself in any situation. This kind of man will always be there for you when you need him.

If you are in doubt, try to test him.

Think twice if he is a mama(s) boy

Speaking from experience, I was one too.

I was spoiled and sheltered — and I can see this in my nephew too. Everything is (served) to him. It is like having a nanny beside him.

I am thankful that I got out of the hands of the stringent care of my parents — otherwise, I would still act like a baby in my 40s.

A vital attribute of a man is he can take care of himself. You want a man who is independent and capable of caring for himself.

If he cannot do it for himself, do not expect he can do it for you. You might end up having his mom take the responsibility to cuddle you.

Taking the lead

Nobody wants a happy-go-lucky man.

Unless you are a teenage girl craving boys with cute faces. Women want a man who is responsible — and someone to count on.

You want to vouch for somebody who takes his commitments seriously and always follows through on his promises.

A man can lead if he has a solid set of values. If he shows this quality, it is an indicator that you can trust him.

He knows what he believes in — and he sticks to his convictions. He is upfront with you — and always puts your best interests first.

Historical background matters

What you have become is a product of your past.

And this includes how you (were) raised. A man from a great family is someone you can be proud of

He has the support of his loved ones and most likely knows how to nurture relationships. Get to know his family (members) too — if there is an opportunity.

When his family is tact and loving, most likely — he is caring and compassionate.

If you want to bring things to the next level, consider his family background to validate his personality.

An eye for the brighter side

The key to a healthy relationship is a material amount of positivity.

Consider a man who sees more of the good things — a man who sees the positive things in you is someone you want to be with

He knows how to appreciate you for who you are — and is supportive. He knows how to build you up instead of tearing you down.
