If It Were Easy, It Wouldn’t Be Worth It
Stop wishing it was.
You can tell yourself as much as you want to, but you do not wish it was easier.
You do not wish the journey was easier.
If it was, your destination wouldn’t be worth it. Your success wouldn’t mean anything. It wouldn’t be extraordinary.
It wouldn’t be something that only the rare few in this world, living their life with intention, have achieved.
It would be…normal.
You. Are. Not. Normal.
You are human.
We…are weirdos.
Weird means unique.
There’s nothing unique about taking an easy path that so many have taken.
You don’t wish it was easier, that’s a disguise. In reality, you just wish you were better.
So…just be better.
Easier said than done right?
Duh, that’s the whole point. No one said it would be easy, and that should excite you.
Trick your mind to face the unknown with oblivious confidence, to face hard work with gratitude, to face your future self with acceptance.
This is your life. You could die. Right now. Let that influence the way you live.
It’s hard, so hard. But believe me, you wouldn’t want it any other way. In fact, you’d just look for the next hard thing to conquer.
There’s no shortcut. There’s no easy path. This all takes patience, resilience, perseverance, consistency, intention, strategy, good choices, high standards, clarity.
Those are hard things for us, but they are also simple.
Don’t wish it were easier, but don’t give hard things more credit than they deserve either.
When we give hard things more credit than they deserve, that’s when we fail or give up or quit (whatever phrase suits you best).
Somewhere along the way you’ve convinced yourself that you aren’t capable.
Forget about the damn dream and how little progress you think you’re making. At the least, you have to believe you are capable first.
At the least, you have to believe that you are capable of tackling the hard things.
Others will fail, but don’t let that be you.
If you do indeed wish the journey was easy, then lie to yourself and say you don’t. This may not work, but the moment you let that “wish” cloud your thinking day in and day out, the harder you make an already “hard” thing.
You know what’s amazing about this whole “dream-chasing” thing?
As long as you stay in the fight, you have a chance. That chance goes out the window the moment you decide you are too weak to face the hard things.
That chance, that possibility, that capability, is everything. Why? Because nothing is promised in this world, but I think we at least know for sure that the possibility is certain.
Chance is certain. The possibility of it all…is certain.
Are you ready for it?
