I Tried Sex Coffee — Here’s What Happened
It’s not what I expected

I recently tried Sex Coffee.
While researching another article, I came across the concept of Sex Coffee. At first, I didn’t know what to think about it and I definitely didn’t know if it would actually work.
So I thought I would perform a field test with my girlfriend.
Here’s what happened.
Disclaimer: In this article, I briefly describe my personal experience. This information is not intended to serve as health advice. As always, consult a licensed doctor about the possible benefits and side effects of caffeine.
What is Sex Coffee?
Sex Coffee is a specific coffee recipe to increase your libido and allegedly enhance sex. It can be made from any kind of brewed coffee, and most recipes use one cup as the dosage.
Caffeine has been used as an aphrodisiac for well over a century. In fact, there have been references to its erotic effects throughout history.
Here are the usual ingredients:
- 1 Tbsp sugar or honey
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 tbsp heavy whipping cream
- 1 teaspoon maca
- 2 tablespoons coconut milk
- 1 tablespoon raw cacao
- 2 tablespoons of coffee
You whisk the ingredients in a large bowl until creamy and then pour into several ounces of brewed coffee. I used Starbucks because I’m bougie with my coffee.
Sources disagree on whether the drink should be heated beforehand. Some say it must be lukewarm while others insist it should be served piping hot with boiling water to produce steam before being mixed with cream.
Personally, I like my coffee molting lava hot.
The theory is that caffeine aids stimulation of the central nervous system, which can enhance one’s sex drive (especially in low libido individuals or those who suffer from impotence). One study even proposed it could inhibit the orgasmic threshold.
My experience with Sex Coffee
“Black as the devil, hot as hell, pure as an angel, sweet as love.” — Charles Maurice de Talleyrand
As I mentioned, I tested Sex Coffee with my girlfriend. I wanted to see if it really worked the way it promised, or if it was all hype.
So, one day, I whipped up some Sex Coffee before she came over. Then I drank it as soon as she arrived. I love coffee so I almost immediately felt the caffeine buzz flooding my body.
I hypothesized that the caffeine would give me a surge of energy, which it did.
Fifteen minutes of making out and clothes-tossing foreplay later, we enjoyed mind-blowing sex. My entire body tingled with adrenaline. Every sensation magnified.
I noticed benefits to my erection, libido, and stamina.
When it was time for me to orgasm, the experience was two or three times stronger than usual. I’m pretty sure I woke the neighbors.
My conclusion? Sex Coffee really does work, and it works wonders.
How Sex Coffee works
Caffeine is thought to enhance the libido because it acts to constrict blood vessels, which gives a sensation similar to that of an erection.
Caffeine also suppresses adenosine by blocking its reuptake in the brain, which results in an increased release of neurotransmitters like dopamine and serotonin. This leads to higher moods, decreased anxiety, and sustained mental energy. Increased neurotransmitter levels mean raised libido for both sexes — not just males.
Research has also found positive effects on both sexual arousal and orgasm time, although the findings are not robust enough to be statistically significant.
Sex Coffee warning
Obviously, too much caffeine is not good for you or your sex life.
Caffeine can raise heart rate, increase blood pressure, cause insomnia, and lead to headaches. Additionally, heavy caffeine use may lead to disturbance in menstrual cycles or other consequences such as low bone density and exfoliation of skin tissue.
Furthermore, if you have a genetic disorder that affects the breakdown of caffeine (ADHD or Cystic Fibrosis) it is likely that too much caffeine will exacerbate symptoms of that disorder.
None of these effects are sexy.
There really is too much of a good thing. If you try Sex Coffee, consume caffeine in moderation. One standard-size cup of coffee is usually plenty.
Final thoughts
The good news is that you don’t need special coffee to get all the benefits of Sex Coffee. Really, any coffee will do.
If you want to really go crazy with Sex Coffee, use stronger coffee:
- Death Wish Coffee
- Mushroom Coffee
- Biohazard Coffe
Both men and women can enhance their sex lives with caffeine. Just be use common sense and caution.
The key is balance. Use coffee as a tool for better sex not as a crutch to sustain a consistent lack of adequate sleep.
