It was a recurring commission, I believe, on a healthy percentage of the sale.</p><p id="f111">But, the truth is, I didn’t really like the product. And, I shared that in my product review. I highlighted the pros and cons and was honest in saying that I wouldn’t personally be continuing with the product.</p><p id="da59">I want to be transparent, open, and honest with my audience. Once you lose reader trust, it’s impossible to regain it. So, this is at the top of my list, being authentic.</p><h1 id="9bb6">2. Write reviews</h1><p id="e626">I have always thought product reviews are boring. They might be boring to write but they are real income earners.</p><p id="bd30">People love reviews. They love reading them when they’re making their buying decision.</p><p id="4786">They want to know what other people think, what others like and dislike, etc.</p><p id="cb3d">Review posts can sell products. Even if you end up not recommending the product, you can build in a recommendation for a product you do like, and earn affiliate commissions that way.</p><h1 id="affc">3. Be consistent</h1><p id="4075">Write often and write a lot. I try publishing daily on Medium. Every post is not an affiliate post but, getting into the habit of writing and publishing daily means I’ll get more opportunities to publish my affiliate content.</p><h1 id="7ace">4. I make a full-time income on Medium and it’s not from the Medium Partner Program!

That’s right, my full-time Medium income doesn’t come from the Medium Partner Program, though I do make a nice chunk of change every month from there.

I believe in multiple income streams so, my Medium income is designed to create multiple sources of income.

While I make money in many ways from Medium, I’m going to talk about one money channel that earns me a full-time income, alone!

How do I make a full-time income from Medium without MPP?

There are plenty of ways to use Medium as an income source without MPP.

  • Selling ebooks
  • Selling courses
  • Offering consulting, coaching, or other services
  • Traffic generation to your monetized website
  • Email marketing

My full-time income stream which comes from Medium is affiliate marketing.

It’s pretty simple.

I write content on Medium and monetize it with affiliate links. When readers click the links and buy, I earn a commission.

For example, last month in July, I made nearly $5K from affiliate commissions.

Most of it is from Medium!
