I Tried Medium Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is about referring products you support to your audience. The hope is that they purchase using your affiliate link and to reward you for your effort, you get a kickback (a commission).

I decided to try it out on Medium and here’s how it went…

Medium is one of the best places to promote your affiliate links. You don’t need to have an audience to make money with it as long as you’re using SEO.

So, how are my results?

I’ve been loosely tracking my progress. I do some affiliate marketing on this account and then I have another Medium account which has around half a dozen stories published and I do some affiliate marketing promotion there, too.

I promote a mixed bag of affiliates.

I try to share products that I have tried or want to try in the future. These are products that I love and want my audience to know about, like:

Jasper AI: This is a writing AI tool. It’s game-changing. I have been using it off and on for the past 5–6 months. If you need content for blogging, your freelance business, your website or sales page, email marketing, whatever, you have got to use Jasper. It saves you a ton of time.
Teachable: Where I currently host my courses. I’ve been with them for a long time. They can accommodate coaching and membership programs, too.
Systeme: I plan on moving all my business here in the next month. They are gonna save me around $500/month with email marketing, webinar platform, course platform, affiliate program and other features which I’m going to turn off with my current providers and transfer to Systeme. That’s the plan.

Here’s a screenshot from my Jasper AI affiliate dashboard. This one is great because it’s recurring. It’s not hundreds or thousands of dollars but, it will grow to that level one day.

So, it’s working?

Projects like these get me excited. I plan on continuing this by adding more content to my Medium accounts, possibly opening up a 3rd account and exploring affiliate marketing on a deeper level.
