I Made £0 Earnings In My First Month On Medium & I Don’t Care

Yep, you’ve read that right, I don’t care!

I’m yet to stumble upon a story where someone highlights that they’ve made ZERO from their first month.

So, today I decided to do just that.

“Why Don’t You Care?”

To put it simply, when I joined Medium I had absolutely no idea what I was doing.

All that mattered to me was that my words around mental health were out there.

I wanted to make sure I could help at least one person understand the nuances around mental health & perhaps help them open up.

The idea of making “x” amount on the platform didn’t cross my mind at any stage.

To me it was a case of doing what I felt would benefit not only me, but others mentally.

What’s Been Important

Ever since I began writing, I can probably count on one hand the amount of times I’ve felt mentally distressed.

Prior to that day, I could probably count on one hand the days my mind felt free and no longer trapped inside my thoughts.

So, for anyone reading this who’s found that writing has released you from that mental torture, you’ll know what I mean.

You’ll know that feeling is worth way more than any amount of money we make from Medium.

Conclusion

The reason why I don’t care that I’ve made £0 is because writing offers me;

  1. Mental stability.
  2. The few articles I’ve made around mental health have resonated with people & that’s worth more than any amount of £$.
  3. It’s early days in my journey.
  4. It’s turned into a real passion & hobby.
  5. I’ve been exposed to the best social media community out there.
  6. I’M ENJOYING IT SO MUCH.

I guess what I’m getting from Medium is well, priceless.

Away from the money, what does writing offer you?

How many of you have been content with making £0 in your first month?

As always, thanks so much for reading, I really do appreciate it.
