I Led The Way

October Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “Site or Sight”

When the leader becomes the follower . . .

Manhattan was Ben’s playground. He introduced me to his city, leading me to iconic sites and tucked-away places. Except for one . . .

I wanted to walk the Brooklyn Bridge, but Ben said:

You can’t walk the bridge! There’s traffic on it.

I was flabbergasted. Surely, my Manhattan-loving man knew that walking the Brooklyn Bridge was a real thing that people do — all the time.

No, he didn’t. He thought I was nuts.

I proved my sanity on our next trip north when I led him across the Brooklyn Bridge.

Ben was in awe of the view. But, mostly, he was in awe of me because I knew something about his city that he didn’t know.
