After-Work Serenity
October Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “Site or Sight”
Sky, trees, and art of noticing
It was a busy day at work with lots of tasks, and worked overtime. Feeling exhausted, I headed to the nearby lake, a place I frequent whenever I can.
That day was different; I discovered the beauty and tranquility of the place. The sky displayed a lovely purple hue at dawn, the trees swayed gently in the breeze I could feel on my skin, birds were chirping, and people were joyfully enjoying themselves.
I usually experience that every time I visit, but that time, I truly felt all the goodness there.
Maybe if I hadn’t felt tired that day, I wouldn’t have noticed the beauty of that site, of everything that happened around me, even the smallest things.
So I realized something: Maybe a little bit of exhaustion is essential to help us truly appreciate the beauty of our lives.
We’re all humans, so it’s normal not to feel okay. We’ll heal eventually.
P.S. I wish I could share how serene the site really is. I captured it in “live photo” format, allowing us to witness the trees swaying in the breeze and the birds passing by. But it’s okay, I guess. Maybe another time.
