Drinking water is like washing out your insides. The water will cleanse the system, fill you up, decrease your caloric load and improve the function of all your tissues. — Kevin R. Stone

This year, my goal is to complete as many healthy 30-day challenges as I can. In less than 60 days, I’ve completed four 30-day healthy challenges. If you’re interested in reading about my experiences, I’ve also compiled a list.

I completed drinking 3.78 liters of water every day for 30 days last month, and it gave me so much energy that I decided to keep drinking 3.78 liters, including food (tea, coffee, smoothies, etc.) for the rest of the year to live my best life.

How much water is enough each day?

According to the U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, an acceptable daily fluid intake including tea, coffee, the beverage is as follow:

  • 3.7 liters for men per day
  • 2.7 liters for women per day

Since 2019, I’ve been attempting to drink 3.7 liters of water every day, but the aim was so lofty that I gave up after a few days or weeks.

However, for 2022, I have planned several 30-day challenges to increase productivity and promote a healthy lifestyle.

Motivational water bottle to track the daily intake

The following bottle was a life-changing experience for me, and it was the best $20 I spent at the beginning of 2022 to increase my water intake.

While working, I keep the motivational water bottle with tracker (Amazon affiliate link) close to my desk.

Those inspiring messages, such as “Good morning,” “You Got It,” and “No Excuses,” helped me to drink more water.

Week#1 — Week#4

You can read the 30-day, 3.78 liters water drinking challenge in detail below.

Now let’s talk about what happened in weeks 5, 6, 7, & 8.

Week#5

I never had a problem with not drinking a gallon of water.

I’d like to point out that I drank 3.78 liters of water, including tea, coffee, smoothies, and whey protein drinks.

Do not make a mistake by drinking a gallon of water plus coffee/tea etc. Drinking too much water can cause to increase the pressure inside the skull, which can lead to brain damage, seizures, or even coma.

Learning

I also learned that drinking 3+ liters of water a day helps clear kidney stones. Maybe it's time for you to try to drink more water if you are having any minor issues which can be resolved at home.

Week-6

As I already stated, drinking 3+ liters of water every day was not an issue. My skin started to clean up, especially the little pimples/acne that had been bothering me.

Learning

Drinking adequate water actually benefits hydrate your skin and wash away acne-causing germs beneath the skin’s surface. Water might help cleanse your skin if your skin is dehydrated or irritated.

Week-7

I detailed below, the best thing that has happened to me since I began drinking 3+ liters of water every day is the cure of epiploic appendagitis.

Learning

Drinking plenty of water might help to resolve chronic unknown health conditions. Water may help you lose weight by restraining your hunger and reducing your calorie intake because it is calorie-free.

I drink a glass of water before each meal, which helps to eat less and is also great for the digestive system.

Drinking a glass of water before each meal is a great strategy to reduce weight.

Week-8

The most amazing thing ever happened. I did not feel any discomfort under my right lower rib cage for more than a week.

I’m not sure if it’s because of the water or because of the other 30-day health challenges I completed, but the mild pain is gone.

Learning

Water may help you lose weight by curbing your hunger and reducing your calorie intake because it is calorie-free. Often, when people believe they are hungry, they are merely dehydrated. A simple strategy to do so is to drink 250-500 mL of water before each meal.

Last month the best thing happened as a result of drinking 3.78 liters of water every day?

In 2019 I developed a rare condition under my right rib cage (lower), which was discomforting, especially in standing. I went to the emergency; the CT scan showed a rare condition called epiploic appendagitis.

What is epiploic appendagitis?

Epiploic appendicitis is an ischemic infarction of an epiploic appendage caused by torsion or spontaneous thrombosis of the epiploic appendage’s central draining vein. EPIDEMIOLOGY. The true incidence of epiploic appendagitis is not known.

Since 2019, I have been in constant discomfort. Doctors were unable to determine the exact cause. I believe that constantly drinking 3+ liters of water each day for more than two months addressed the problem.

I’m happy to say that the discomfort has disappeared totally during the last two weeks.

Conclusion

Clean water is a blessing. According to a UNICEF report, 884 million people do not have access to clean water.

To live a healthy life, it’s your turn to do the experiment to drink 3.78 liters or one gallon of water daily, including tea, coffee, beverage, etc.

You never know it might help you resolve your chronic issues like me.

I intend to drink 3+ liters of water for the remainder of the year, and I will report back next month with 90-day results.
