How To Write a Killer Headline For Your Blog Post?
A good headline for a blog posts means that you deliver your message as well as don’t forget about the SEO.
A great blog post Headline shouldn’t be just clear but there are other numerous factors that we need to keep in mind while writing headlines for a blog post. When I was a new blogger I did some worst mistakes by writing headlines that lack everything good to be included in a good headline. With passing time, I learned some search engine optimization and writing long-form headlines. Long-form headlines actually work very well in some cases but because of its size, very few people find it attractive except the people searching on the search engines.
As a writer on platforms like Medium and Linkedin, this is your job to find a common space between writing a clear headline as well as have the right proportions of the keywords used in your blog post headline. You can use these techniques on any blog publishing platforms like Medium, Quora, Linkedin, and Video publishing platforms like YouTube and Facebook.
Why you should spend more time thinking about a great headline? Every platform you visit, like Medium, YouTube, Google search results, Quora, or Even Facebook, your headlines comes first. When more and more people click on a title, the algorithm of those sites recognize this and show it to more people. When your content “Title” is shown to more people this means you will get more traffic, make more money, or will get more email subscribers and sales, just optimizing your title is the most important part of your content marketing.
1. Write the headline first:
I write the headline first then write the body and conclusion. Some people choose to write the body first and then think about the “Best possible title”, this practice may work for some, but for me and the majority of the bloggers, writing the title gives you the direction, the purpose and the focus of the article.
In the case of Movies, do you think they first go with the name of the movie or they select the name when shooting for the movie is completed? In most cases, they already have a name, but in some cases, the name is either altered or they select a phrase from in the movie and give the movie that name.
2. The clarity in your headlines:
State the message clearly. What you are intended to learn in this blog post. If your title is “How To Write a Killer Headline For Your Blog Post?” this means, you will learn to write the best title for your blog post.
You can make your title more clear by:
- State the problem
- Ask a question
- Add a number to your title like “11 ways to make money through your blog”
- Add something interesting to your title like “7 ways to write an E-book and how I sale 1,230 ebooks online”
- Make your reader more curious just by looking into the title, like “69 ways to surprise your Girlfriend” or “I Use these 7 Methods To Grow my Newsletter from 1,000 to 3,000 emails list in One Week”
- Connect with the emotions of your readers. As a blogger, I want more traffic to my blog, a woman will want to be more attractive, as a Human, I want to be more happy and healthy.
3. The Clickbait title:
Yes, Clickbait works every time. If you are reading this then there is a high chance that you don’t like clickbait titles but the truth is “Everybody click on clickbait” it is like the feeling you get after masturbating, the guilt feeling. Clickbait is highly practiced and famous on some sites like YouTube and social media platforms.
4. Adding the keywords in your Title:
This is where most people waste their writing by not making it optimizable for the search engines. A keyword is “a combination of words” that people search on search engines. Google and every other search engine look into many factors before ranking blog posts into its search results for a keyword. A great title, SEO description, the use of the keyword in the first 100 words, and the Structure of the URL also plays a very important role in getting ranked on Google search. If you are a blogger or writer, learning Search engine optimization is part of your job, learn the complete SEO basics in this article.

The third title is an obvious “Clickbait” but if people aren’t finding it useful then it will be removed from Google search.
Without a keyword, your blog post will not be ranked in Google search. A Two or three words title like “Today I am Very Happy” is a title but not optimized for the search, instead, a better practice will be to write about “Ways to live a happier life” and share your story.
