How to Tell The Voice of Your Intuition From The Noise of Your Fears
Fear has a sneaky way of disguising itself as intuition

I. Highest Form of Intelligence
Many scientists are now referring to intuition as the highest form of human intelligence. Intuition is an inner knowing that goes beyond conscious reasoning.
Intuition is a sudden and unexplainable feeling that arises within you. Also referred to as an instinct, sixth sense, inkling, hunch, or gut feeling, intuition is the mysterious energy that guides, protects, and informs us. It comes from the Latin word intueri, which means to contemplate or to look within.
Intuition is seen as a legitimate way to make decisions and judgments. It emerges as a quiet inner voice or feeling that tells us to do something, take a chance, go down a path, or accept an opportunity. It tells us when to quit a job, leave a relationship, or start a business. It tells us to stay home instead of going out. It tells us to take a different route to work and it can help us interpret dreams and other things. It tells us to be careful of certain people, places, and things. It tells us to go see a doctor, to open a page of a book, to turn on the TV or radio at a specific time. Mothers use their intuition to figure out what’s wrong with their babies.
Intuition puts us in touch with our instinctive defense systems, helping us to avoid harm. It tells us what (not) to do, what to be careful of, when to be vigilant, and when to stop.
II. The Noise of Fear
Fear has a sneaky way of disguising itself as intuition because of how strong and loud the mental voice can become.
Your intuition will never make you afraid. When you feel something like intuition but it makes you even a bit afraid, it is just fear in the mind’s voice.
The mind is loud. Intuition is a low subtle voice, although it can get loud when it’s trying to warn you of impending danger.
Fear feels heavy and dark, and it’s emotionally charged. For example, if I do or don’t do this, then something terrible will happen.
Fear is vague and doesn’t really tell you what to do other than making you fearful, frustrated, overwhelmed, confused, or anxious. It makes you worry and keeps you in the prison of the mind.
Intuition feels light, and it’s crystal clear what you need to do.
Without learning the voice of our intuition, we solely rely on the chaotic mind or external input from others, which can sometimes lead us down the wrong path.
III. The Voice of Intuition
To connect to your intuition, you must connect with your heart. To connect with your heart, you must know your heart language. The heart language is very different from the mind language.
We are mind driven and we give dominance to the mind, thinking the mind is more important than the body. We assume the mind controls the body since whatever you think; the body does, but the body has a lot to teach the mind. While the mind has some control over the body, the body has immense wisdom and can influence the mind a great deal. The body has a very complex intelligence, different from the mind but not inferior to it.
Your heart beating is the reason you are alive. You can lose your mind and still live, but the heart is the anchor that keeps the body running.
The heart and the body are intimately connected and the fastest way to connect to your heart is to connect to the body.
Many people think they are already connected to the body simply because they occupy it, but the truth is we aren’t. Many ancient cultures understood spirit connection to the body, and that’s why they used drumming and dancing during ceremonies to connect with source energy and move their body. When you move the body, spirit flows.
The more connected we are to the body, the more we perceive intuition.
Nature is a good way to connect to the body. We lost that connection when many people in the ancient days moved from tribal cultures to urban areas and cities. We lose that connection when we remove ourselves from nature, and we subsequently remove ourselves from the body and disconnect from it.
We also disconnect from our bodies because of our sensitivities. We do this in response to pain and trauma. We assume the body is the source of the discomfort, so we unconsciously remove ourselves from it. We grow up with this disconnection without knowing it.
The more connected we are to the body, the more we learn the heart language, and then we can pick up on subtle signs from our intuition. The more you train yourself to catch these signs, the more you will be on your soul path and become aligned with your higher self.
How to Connect With Intuition
1. Stillness
Intuition is very subtle. If you are not in a place of inner stillness, it will be hard to hear those subtle signs. This is mostly about mental stillness. The loud mind is the biggest obstacle to developing intuition because of its constant chatter.
Creating a sense of inner stillness, calming, and quieting the mind allows you to hear and perceive your intuition. You can do this by using deep breathing to quiet the mind and tune into the body.
The more you focus on your breathing, the more you come into the body. The breath is the anchor of the present moment. When you connect with the present moment, you ground and connect to the body, and when you connect to the body, your body relaxes.
2. Relaxed body
Having a relaxed body is crucial to connecting to intuition, especially when you are beginning to work with your intuition.
When you are relaxed, the parasympathetic nervous system is active instead of the sympathetic system which sends you into fight or flight. Think about it: When you are running away from a jaguar in the forest, you don’t have time to tune in to listen to your intuition. You are only worried about getting the hell out of there! You are in fight-or-flight mode and not relaxed.
The parasympathetic nervous system calms the body. Activating the parasympathetic system with things like slow stretches relaxes the body. Slow dancing or the feminine type of dance also activates the parasympathetic nervous system. Massage is another way. That and any other activity that relaxes the body helps you tune in to the body to connect to intuition.
3. Solitude
When you are alone but scrolling on Instagram, watching YouTube, or Netflix, then you are not really alone. Solitude is being alone with no outside distractions.
Our brain gets used to constant stimuli. The mind gets bored when it’s doing nothing. But something amazing happens in boredom. You connect with yourself, your body, and your intuition.
Solitude works great if you can be out in nature because you will be more connected to the body. You can put all your attention on the body and listen to your heart. Even if it’s just five minutes a day doing nothing, you will see how this will work.
4. Silence
Silence is crucial to developing intuition quickly. In silence, you deprive your brain of stimuli. No music, no phone, no TV. This detoxes the brain because the brain can become addicted to noise and stimuli.
The brain might go into withdrawal and start freaking out because it’s not used to silence. When this happens, it proves your brain is really addicted to stimuli and is having a hard time. Your job now will be to break that addiction.
When you stick with the silence and you read, pray, meditate, or journal, the withdrawal, and craving of stimuli cease and you awaken your intuition and your sixth sense.
The most important thing about learning the subtle voice intuition is trust. When you trust something, the bond and connection you have with that thing become stronger. The more you can trust your intuition, the more you will hear it speak wise feelings to you.
