How To Talk So Others Will Listen.
My Tip: Speak their language(s)

Language goes beyond those that we know, such as English, Chinese, Spanish, Japanese, etc. These are carriers of our thought processes translated into a medium that many of us can listen to and comprehend.
That’s it. If you speak French and I speak French, we can comprehend each other. If you speak and I don’t, then we don’t comprehend each other. That is language.
And language can go a lot deeper. For instance, the implicit languages that we speak based on our beliefs.
If we are selling financial products, pitching equities investment to a person who only knows stashing cash away as THE financially intelligent thing to do — We have an uphill battle.
Winning this battle is tough. The odds are against us.
Thus, it is important we speak their language. When we do that, the counter-party understands. We remove fiction of thought processing on their end.
Buy-in gets accelerated.
What do I mean?
Try telling a young boy of 10 years that he needs to study hard for his future. Maybe add a little sprinkle that if he doesn’t, he will be out begging in the streets.
All I will say is — Good luck.
The young boy is not interested in any of that. All he is thinking about is playing the next fun game on XBOX.
If we want him to study hard, we got to speak his language. If we can incentivize him to work hard by giving him what he wants — We have a shot.
Of course, we have to educate our young about the ways of life beyond results and toys. This is just an example.
When it comes to getting people to listen, this is the challenge. How many languages can we speak?
