How to Resist The Lies of Your Mind
You find bliss when you stop listening to the noise within.

If you think about the small mistakes in the countless decisions you make in one day, you will have a serious problem. Then multiply your mistakes by that of billions of people with human error, and you will have a disaster. That is the degree of noise our thoughts produce.
What makes these mistakes insidious is that they are rarely caused by conscious decision-making. Our imprecise human judgment produces unwanted variables that, according to the psychologist, are called perceptions or noises.
Mr. Parks, a 23-year-old Canadian, had large gambling debts. One night, while sleeping with his wife and child next to him, he got out of bed, got into his car, and drove 15 miles to the home of his wife’s parents. There he attacked them with a knife, killing his mother-in-law and seriously wounding his father-in-law.
Mr. Parks, realizing what he had done, went straight to the police and confessed to the murder. The police did not believe his story at first but they arrested him. Parks was examined by a team of sleep specialists, who found that the pattern of brain waves that occurred while he was sleeping was abnormal.
The specialists finally concluded that he was sleepwalking, probably accelerated by stress and anxiety about his financial problems, was the most likely explanation for his aberrational behavior. They also agreed that such a combination of stressors was uncommon.
Therefore, it was unlikely that he would suffer another such violent episode, and he was probably not a danger to others. Given this combination of evidence, the jury acquitted Parks of murder and assault. He walked out of the courtroom a free man.
Distinguishing between awareness and consciousness
Most people confuse awareness with consciousness, but they are different. Awareness is what we can see or feel within and outside of our senses. It is simply a manifestation of knowledge without substance.
Being aware is having the ability to be notified, react to and interact with self, others and surroundings.
On the other hand, consciousness tells us how to respond to pain, feelings, emotions, and our surroundings. It relates to being aware, aware of yourself, aware of others, aware of your surroundings, etc.
You must understand that awareness is infinite, unlike consciousness. Your awareness can take over “what you are conscious of” and also take over “where your conscious stops.”
How to separate your awareness from noise
Our mind is an interpretation of our experiences. Every thought you have is a lie. To have clarity of mind start by rejecting the lies your mind tells you by being aware of every thought you consume.
The human brain processes more than 60,000 thoughts a day, and these thoughts are a collection of noise. They produce emotions like stress, anxiety, and fear can alter our brain waves. They prevent us from being happy and at peace. These noises also interfere with our judgments, as with Mr. Parks.
Mr. Park may have unknowingly attacked his in-laws, but he must have held a grudge against his in-laws and had resentful thoughts in his head prior to the event. This study suggests that premeditated thoughts can cause you to harm someone.
In 2005, the Supreme Court abolished the penal reform, which gave judges the power to pass sentences with guidelines. The judges were certainly happy, but their decisions were based. Each judge made a decision based on their individual perception.
Human rights were violated. Black defendants were the most affected by the unjust rule of the judiciary.
Noise produces most of the prejudice we see: the injustice of human judgment. Our mind is full of negative thoughts that project real emotions into our bodies. Racism, sexism, and homophobia are all products of biased judgments caused by noise.
We can avoid most mistakes in business, medicine, the criminal justice system, and personal relationships and save ourselves from self-destructive thoughts by eliminating noise from our thoughts. These steps below will help you clear your mind of unwanted thoughts when making decisions.
Be aware of your thoughts
Statistical thinking is a way of dictating the noise in your mind. Most of the thought patterns that rob us of peace of mind are unconsciously on auto pilot.
To detach ourselves from our thoughts, we need to create a certain distance, a space to breathe, between ourselves and the mind. When you move away from your mind as if you were looking in a mirror, you can separate awareness from the noise of your mind.
The key is to bring more awareness to these unconscious patterns. The first step is learning to step back and view the mind objectively, with an attitude of curiosity and non-judgmental acceptance.
Let’s say you are on a cliff. Your mind tells you to jump off the cliff because the ground you are standing on is stinking. Are you going to jump, or would you first question how the ground is stinking?
Your awareness will wonder how the ground is stinking? Jumping means killing yourself, why you would want to kill yourself? What will you gain by doing so?
By pausing to question yourself, you become observant of the situation; this interrupts the noise (the perception) that told you to throw yourself off the cliff. If you want clarity in your judgment, you must first discern the lies in your mind.
Sometimes it helps to ask yourself if that decision is what you want if the circumstances are different. There is a chance that you may make the wrong decision, but you can at least be sure that your decision was not made by random stressors.
Reject your fears
Fear is not real. Your mind projects these thoughts that prevent you from creating the life you want. I’m not talking about the fear of tarantulas. I mean fear of rejection, fear of divorce, fear of marriage, fear of disappointing your parents, fear of success, and fear of death.
These fears are not real. Do you know why? Your thoughts send a chemical messenger called neuropeptide from your brain to your body, which creates different emotions. That’s why you can feel these fears as if they were real.
But in reality, you learned to be afraid from childhood — from your parents or relatives who taught you that perfectionism is the only way to be happy, and you live your life in fear of disappointing them. You grew up in a society that dictates what you should or should not do, and you do not want to be seen as a bad person.
Social media, advertisements, TV shows, etc., are constantly producing these fears in us through their content and stories, so our thoughts pick up these fearful emotions to keep us in a box. These fears influence your peace of mind and thought process.
In other words, fear is caused by your way of thinking. In this sense, fear is not real, only imagined. This means that you can overcome fear by learning to think differently. If you can take a moment to realize that these fears cannot kill you, you can break the hold that fears have over you.
Final thoughts
As local and online news outlets increasingly report crime around the world, we live in fear, unaware of the next tragic news that we will wake up to.
Experiencing awareness beyond objectified physical reality is often the foundation for accessing a deeper and peaceful connection with others.
When you learn to master your thoughts and emotions and embrace and embody the concepts of compassion, understanding, forgiveness, gratitude, unconditional love, patience, kindness, truthfulness, humility, and harmony, you will reach a higher level of awareness.
People have experienced causal awareness secondary to spiritual practice, inspired by music, taking mind-altering drugs, or after emotional trauma, childbirth, or intense sexual experiences. That feeling of bliss is a state of perfect ecstasy, untainted by distracting thoughts, desires, or moods.
As you achieve a high level of awareness, you awaken to the eternal and unlimited nature of your being. You would see your face in the face of a stranger or an enemy. You would become patient, kind, and compassionate to all beings.
