How To Pack Like A Hotwife: It’s Easier Than You Might Think

6 Steps to Sexy Success

When you hear the word hotwife, your imagination might flood with images of high-maintenance women. Big-haired women with red-lacquered nails who travel with several pieces of luggage and require porters and/or a subservient husband to shoulder the load.

I am not this woman.

I’m a hotwife who is proud to be a minimalist. Don’t get me wrong, I love beautiful clothes and shoes. But modern travel forces me to practice the 3Rs — reduce, reuse and recycle.

Six weeks prior to this summer’s much anticipated Naughty N’awlins, I began thinking about what I needed to pack. What did I have? Did I need to purchase anything? As I thought about packing, I was very conscious of the latest travel weight restrictions. I wondered how I would fit all of the sexy clothing I need for this event into one suitcase.

It’s a challenge but I know the hotwife in me can do it. Here‘s how I did it:

Step One — GATHER SEXY CLOTHING

First, I pulled all of my sexy clothes out of the closet and all the other places they are hidden. Then, I piled them high onto the bed in my spare room. While it wasn’t a huge pile of clothes, I wanted to see everything I had all in one place. Because of Covid, I hadn’t used many of these items in over a year.

Taking everything out of my closet, helped me to perform a basic clothing inventory. It also helped me save money when I realized I didn’t need to buy another black cocktail dress.

Step Two — ORGANIZE SEXY CLOTHING

Once, I had everything — tops, shorts, jeans, skirts, dresses, underwear, shoes — out of the closet (haha), I pulled up the schedule for Naughty.

Grabbing a pen and paper, I broke the event down into individual days. Once I created my high-level structure, I divided each day into three categories — day, night, and themes.

Next, I began to sort my clothes into these categories. As I was doing this, I quickly realized I only needed a maximum of four items in each category.

Based on that simple fact, I started to eliminate items. I focussed on keeping those items like sexy tops that could work with shorts, capris and skirts. Doing this allowed me to reduce even further.

This process also helped me discover if there were any holes in my Naughty wardrobe. Thankfully, I didn’t have many.

Then, I began to consider colour combinations. Hotwives can’t be boring. I like to use my clothing to attract the right kind of attention from the right kind of men. One of the best ways to do this is to dress well.

Step Three — THINK SEXY, NOT TRASHY

Many people in the Swinging lifestyle enjoy dressing up. I do too. But for me, it’s a little more complicated.

Trashy clothes tend to be cheap but I can’t wear them. My tall — 5'11" — frame looks best wearing clothing that is well-cut and fits properly.

An additional challenge is my hotwife goal to look sexy, not trashy. In my mind, there’s a big difference.

Step Four — REDUCE

Now that I’ve halved my clothing, I had time to think about what I’ll wear to the Theme Parties. Unlike people in the Southern U.S. who can drive to the event, I’ll be flying so my costumes need to be easy and lightweight. This year’s theme nights include:

  • Sexy Club Wear
  • 80s Prom
  • Neon
  • Mardi Gras

One of the easiest ways I’ve found to dress for these theme nights is to dress scantily and apply body glitter liberally. I’m still getting positive comments about the see-through dress I wore two years ago.

This year, I think I’ll add some funk to my look by using glitter makeup. A friend of mine has a treasure trove of fun wigs she wears at these events.

Step Five —ACCESSORIZE

Like the majority of women, my wardrobe is filled with black. Black might be easy to wear but for Naughty and New Orleans, I like to add some vibrancy to my wardrobe selections.

Over the years, I’ve found the easiest way to reuse a simple black cocktail dress is to invest in a variety of different stockings and statement earrings. Both of these items distract people from noticing you might be wearing the same dress two nights in a row.

This year, I bought some oversized statement earrings in fuschia pink and turquoise green. They were a little pricey but as Emeril says they’ll add some bam! to my outfits.

Like most women, hotwives also have budgets. I recommend you buy the best cocktail dress you can afford. Make sure it flatters your figure. If you feel sexy, everyone will think you’re sexy.

If the dress isn’t a perfect fit, get it altered so it fits you like a glove. Good alterations can make a dress you bought on a discount rack for $25 look like you paid $300.

Step Six — PACKING LIKE A HOTWIFE

Once I completed steps 1 to 5, the packing process was easy.

I’d reduced my sexy clothing pile substantially. I made sure I included a few statement pieces like a beaded halter and leather pants. But the rest of my bag still includes mostly black items with some fuschia thrown in to add some Bam!

My gathering and organizing steps meant I didn’t need to buy anything new. It also helped me to realize how I could simply and affordably refresh old looks with some new statement earrings.

Thanks to alterations, my newly refreshed Naughty wardrobe fits me perfectly and made me feel confident and sexy. What more could a hotwife want?

So if you find yourself at Naughty this August, look for the tall blonde with the flashy statement earrings. I’m sure you’ll find me in the crowd.
