The World’s Largest Swinger party opens its doors on August 4

Two years ago I had my best summer ever! It all began in New Orleans at Naughty N’Awlins — the largest lifestyle convention for couples in the world.

This August, I expect New Orleans will be vibrating with the pent-up sexual energy of swingers, polyamorists, and throuples. This annual gathering of open-minded couples is a one-of-a-kind experience.

Naughty or NIN, as it is dubbed by those in the know, is all about couples and singles getting up close and personal. This event attracts all types of sex enthusiasts from newbies to sex addicts and everyone in between.

But last summer, my plans to attend my second Naughty event were dashed by Covid-19. I was crushed when the Canada-US Border closed and air travel for Canadians became very challenging.

This year, Naughty might be a little smaller. More intimate. It’s all good. I’m just thrilled I can attend.

We’re in New Orleans for some steamy, hot sex.

But don’t worry, I‘m not going to Naughty solo. I’ll be there along with my sexy husband and nearly 1,000 other swingers, hotwives, throuples, and polyamorists. We all know why we’re in town. It’s not for the ever plentiful Hurricanes, sugary beignets, deep-fried oysters, po’boy sandwiches, or Southern fried chicken. No, we all know we’re in New Orleans for some steamy, hot sex.

As a Canadian, I feel like I’ve spent the last sixteen months living like a nun. Well, maybe not exactly a nun. I’m married and I haven’t been exactly celibate this past year. However, my usually very active sex life was scaled back — dramatically.

My first visit to NIN was mind-blowing! I felt like a virgin.

Why do I want to go back to NIN? It’s simple.

Nude Speed Dating

On the advice of an older couple, my husband and I attended the Nude Speed Dating event. This event was so popular, event organizers had to add additional sessions!

Imagine a room filled with 60 nude couples arranged in two lines opposite each other. I’m sure we all felt as if we were relieving an Eyes Wide Shut version of a high school dance. Then, the event starts and you have 60 seconds to make an impression! Because you’re nude, you have no place to put people’s contact cards. Thankfully, my husband wore his watch and slipped cards under the band.

This one event helped us connect with couples we spent the rest of the week with. Some of them have become great friends who visited us in Canada last year.

Sexual Freedom Parade

In other Medium articles, I’ve written about how I’ve always been sexual. I might have been sexual but I was also very shy and protective about my reputation. Naughty helped me break out of my shell. I can’t imagine my younger self marching topless down Bourbon Street in the Sexual Freedom Parade. I even dined topless in a 4-star restaurant! There’s something about the vibe in New Orleans. It helped turn a conservative girl like me into a brazen hussy!

Dark Room

I’d read about Dark Rooms but I’d never experienced one before. First and foremost, it’s not for the faint of heart. I never knew how truly dark a room could be until I entered one.

Entering the Dark Room for the first time was a bit scary. I had no idea what to expect. At the door, my husband and I stripped off our clothes. Holding hands, we stepped into the darkened space. What followed will be shared in a subsequent article …you’ll have to wait.

A Dark Room is designed to play with your senses. Obviously, you can’t see but speech is also forbidden. The only way to navigate inside the room is by touch. Because you can’t see, you have no idea who you’re touching or who is touching you. Of course, if you’re brave enough to enter the Dark Room, you’ve physically given consent. If you don’t like the surprises the Dark Room offers … leave.

This August, the only mask I’ll be wearing will be a beaded one for the annual Mardi Gras costume ball!

The hotwife side of me is starting to vibrate with sexual energy just like my Magic Wand. My sexual confidence has grown and I’m ready to get down and dirty in N’Awlins.
